Kuras’ low empathy doesn’t mean he only feels guilty because of some other reason

Guilt is an emotion and empathy is being able to relate to someone.

“Empathy, empathy, put yourself in place of me” -Adventure Time

Kuras can’t understand why someone would feel a certain emotion. But he DOES understand right versus wrong.

He understands that whatever he did caused HARM, and he didn’t want to cause harm. And so he feels guilty. He sees that people are hurt by his actions and he may not understand why, say, telling you that you look bad in your favorite sweater makes you upset, but he knows that it makes you upset. And he feels bad for making you upset.

But also, the low score, as another post said, doesn’t necessarily mean he doesn’t have empathy, just that he doesn’t have as much as the other LI’s

Kuras brought humanity knowledge, but they took advantage of it and used it to sin (Senobium). Now I’m thinking of the Senobium pushing him to the brink doing some nasty shit in his route, and Kuras literally has a “I don’t care if everything ends now” moment and tries to destroy humanity because he feels he’s responsible for their fate. Not to mention he’s been helping them day and night. He might have grown this intrusive thought in him over the centuries that maybe if he destroyed the source of his suffering, he’ll finally be free.

Seeing the fandom discussing Kuras’s guilt and it not correlating to his incredibly low empathy scoring, maybe it’s more like he’s been told he’s supposed to feel guilty by someone close or superior to him? Like he physically could not register the apparent guilt he’s supposed to have until being told to feel that way by someone.

Kuras & empathy

Hello, everyone, today I am here to rant about Kuras’s stats post. Specifically, the low stat for his empathy.

Brief disclaimer I suck at wording my thoughts so… 💀

Before we do that, we need to get into a quick conversation about what empathy even is. Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. You ever started crying because your friend is hurting over an event that happened and you’ve been in their exact situation before, so you also understand how they feel? That’s empathy. Of course, not being empathic doesn’t inherently make you a bad person.

Stating the obvious, Kuras isn’t human. He’s a seraphim. However, he’s interacted with humans for many years, studying their behaviors with curiosity. Even with how much he’s interacted with humans, he still doesn’t entirely get them. Power level could maybe also be a factor? He’s a different species, an otherworldly being. So of course, he’s not going to entirely understand them on the same level.

Ah, but that’s not all. As of recently, we’ve gotten to see more of his destructive side. I think it’s safe to assume he has become frustrated with humans, in a sense.

Going off of the demo & whatnot, it seems we’re going to have to save/redeem him. We’ll have to help guide him to the right path, help him keep control over himself, teaching him to be more... “understanding”, I guess.

I think that’s uhhhh all I have to say on that. Sorry if this sucked LMAO. But anyways I love him sm I’ll fix him dw bbg
