This is a quick painting I did during the Magicicada swarm of 2019 Cicada. I love cicada, probably one of my favorite insects, and I wanted to find a myth to depict featuring them. I found the ancient Greek viewed them as fairy spirits of music and rebirth, sacred to the muses.
