Updating our Player Model
After finally getting enough time to finish it, our artists have made a new player model. As much as we love our old ones....
Which we nicknamed ‘Blauchlan’, he had to retire to make room for something a little more appealing.
Although the new model is yet to named, he is at least one thing.....HUGE! But wait, there’s more. Our new model also needs some life (by which I mean colour)
Also he now has a face, which is far less......horrifying.

Post-Processing
It’s amazing what a little post-processing can do. It can really add life to a world.

It’s the little things that count
It’s amazing what a little post-processing can do. It can really add life to a world.
Even after adding in all the assets and colour to our scene, it still felt off. And that is because there was no backdrop for our level, it was a backyard floating in a gray abyss
So we added some neighbours

Updating our water
Our old water wasn’t remotely water like. It was just a quad painted light blue. But now it is much more

Colour makes a world of difference

into......
Yowza!
But something is is missing......

Just adding a few assets, no big deal
After getting some help from additional artists, we managed to bring back many of the assets we had to cut from the game due to time constraints turning this...
Into this.....
And now onto texturing

Reverting to the old design
After many re-scopes due to unforeseen circumstances the team had to cut many of the assets that would have been placed around our scene, as well as redesigning the level to be much simpler which resulted in this.
However......
After rethinking the level redesign decision we decided to revert back to the old design, as the oddly shaped pool felt like it gave the game more character

We decided to title our game ‘The Noodling’, which we felt represented the general feel of the game quite well
Just a different concept looking at a different kind of arena and platforms

So our game started off as Top down, but we decided to switch to 3/4 view
It’s a game where up to 4 players whack each other with pool noodles to knock their opponents off of the platforms and into the surrounding water
