If you want to automate your home a bit, but you don't want any "smart" tech, you can just buy remote controlled power sockets instead

They are a lot cheaper and easier to set up and use than some home automation smart tech nonsense

As someone who's seen a full playthrough of Faith, plus seen several fan theories I'm moderately sure the dev has confirmed, allow me to add to this from that angle:

The story follows a priest (potentially excommunicated) who fucked up an exorcism and is now cursed by the devil until he can do it again and do it right. In the process of this, he proceeds to run around exorcising other demons just by holding his cross in their direction for a few seconds. This includes demons inhabiting (and secretly running) an off-brand planned parenthood, and a kindergarten, in the third game.

Even if it's just being done as like "haha this is what the satanic panic people thought, fucking wild" (which, since the dev is a former missionary, I have my doubts about), it sends a message that isn't the best. "The enemy has control over many facets of society, operates in broad daylight, and is coming for your kids, but oh yeah they also go away after 3 seconds of a cross from a man with next to no faith in his god". As Vriska said above, categorically fascist.

when you think a8out it, holy warriors that fight demons is kinda inherently fascist if you think a8out it. like the classic rhetoric 8ehind it is that the demons are super duper powerful and will instantly murder you if you give them a chance. and if not murder, then just irrepara8ly ruin your life.

8UT they're also stupidly weak, cry in the face of a cross, melt against holy water, holy weapons cut through them like 8utter, just 8eing in a place of religion makes them actively suffer.
