Right, considering the current state of corporate politics on this site, and that it seems that only those affected seem to be actively speaking on the matter, this needs to be dragged out to a wider audience.

This extends to refusing to believe in bogus call-out posts for frankly minuscule thinks such as being horny or kinky, especially if the target is presenting in an ‘unconventional’ manner, (therians, etc.) this double standard where it is seen as ‘degenerate’ for transfemmes to merely exist in certain spaces, yet everyone else is fine to do so is disgusting and part of the reason for the backlash.

God I love putting mysterious, unmarked black books into giant libraries that no-one will find untill a charming protagonist with a slightly grey-ish, off-white t-shirt and one of those brown hats, reminiscent of a cowboy hat, finds that book,and with the help of a slightly comedic and less adventurous as the protagonist, and potentially slightly unwilling, will find the treasure hidden in a long-forgotten area, that some strange old man only knows anything about it, and says it is too dangerous but eventually gets sucked in into helping as well, and also helps find before mentioned treasure, but also realises that, at the end of the journey, the friendships made are worth far more than a pile of gold ever would be, and the sidekick learns that to be a good person they should stand up for theirself, and that learn to be more adventurous and he does and then they make more friends because before they didn't have many but now they do.

What is this about the tumblr staff wanting to sell art data to midjourney?

An ex-colleague of mine mentioned yesterday that there may be contacts between Automattic and midjourney in that direction, but nothing is public yet and I don't have any more info. They probably won't have anything specific to share either, since they left the company weeks ago too. That being said:

I have no reason to doubt my ex-coworker word, they are a trustworthy person.

Tumblr's CEO has been absurdly enthusiastic (comically, even) about AI, and is a big fan of LLMs and 'AI' companies.

A deal with midjourney could solve tumblr financial issues (not the same company, but openAi is paying up to 5 million/year to news companies to use their content as training data... tumblr generates several orders of magnitude more content than any newspaper or any media company and it only would need a 20 to 30 million per year deal to be profitable)

So I don't have any extra info yet, but I'm keeping my ears open.
