I'm still in my Alex appreciation hours. Coz like,,, there's just something about him y'know? He could have so easily been made into this annoying or offensive trope but they balanced his character so well!!
He's the most sarcastic, judgemental, and rational-minded one out of the boys, but he's not some 'facts over feelings, I just say it how it is' douchebag. Instead he's genuinely compassionate and sensitive to people's emotions, and he uses his more bluntly honest habits to be sweet and kind to the people he cares about. And while his emotionality is sometimes made light of by the narrative, his anxiety is a consistent part of his character that's an important part in developing his relationship with Willie
He's openly gay from the start and he's not a Not Like Other Gays who prides himself on seeming straight or a Gay Best Friend who's only there to be flamboyant and sassy. He's a drummer who's got a somewhat 'masculine' sense of style and mostly hangs out with other guys, but he's equally interested in more 'feminine' things like dance and rainbow jewellery and the colour pink. His relationship with his gender expression and gender roles is unapologetically queer
Alex is just such a great character and I absolutely adore him

I follow Madison on Twitter and she talks about how she isn’t sure what she wants to do with herself moving forward and it breaks my heart because they all probably thought once JATP blew up, that’s what they’d be doing at least for the next few years.
She wants to perform and do shows but can’t. it makes me so sad.

Experiencing food poisoning makes you realize how gruesome the deaths of Luke, Alex, and Reggie actually were.
Not only was their untimely death hilariously stupid and very humiliating. (Come on, dying from rancid street dogs is remarkably uncool. But it perfectly captures what our three boys are: wannabe bad boys who, in reality, are just adorable dorks.)
No, it's also extremely painful. And it's not a very fast death either. So while they were suffering from tremendous physical pain, they were also plagued by the awareness that they a) will die and b) have no opportunity to make amends with their loved ones. Especially for Luke, this must have been pure mental torture.
That's actual horror.
This is the build-up for an off-screen horror scene.

Alive au where Willie lives in the same apartment building as the guys, and Willie and Reggie are both popular streamers who are super well known for being friends. And since Willie likes lying and Reggie likes going along with schemes, there are just So many contradicting stories about their friendship
Then one time they’re streaming at Willie’s place and they get asked how they met, so Willie just starts going on a story about how mall security was chasing him and Reggie distracted the guard so he could hide. And before he can even finish the story, Alex lets himself into Willie’s apartment, walks into frame and goes “just so you all know, they’re lying. I was the one who distracted the guard, I introduced them after Reggie tried to stage dive and punched Willie in the face.” then walks back out again
And the chat’s just very ????? Why does Reggie’s roommate have a key to Willie’s apartment?????? And how the fuck did he get there so quickly???????? But Willie fully doesn’t realise because he’s way too busy being gay about Alex encouraging his goal of having the fakest, most contradictory online backstory possible to look at chat

Okay but like. Imagine if instead of being a random worker at the Orpheum, Rose had actually known the guys
Like she and Luke both worked at the same diner, and they’d bonded over their love of music. She met the other guys a bit later when she served their table, and they were immediately down to welcome her to their friend group because. Well. They’re them.
And when they scored the Orpheum, they gave Rose one of their tickets to help her get more connections for her own career. She spent the sound check schmoozing then went back to the guys when they were wrapping up. They talked for a bit before Alex realised they’d left some stuff in the van. Rose volunteered since was the guest, and Bobby went with her because the doors had always be awkward to open. So the two of them went off while the others went to get hotdogs as they waited
Coz if she actually knew them, Rose would have a good reason to bring them of all people back, because she knew what they were like and that they could help Julie. And when the guys finally realise that Julie’s her daughter, it would be more than a moment of “hey that’s… that girl we met for ten seconds!”, it would be someone they had proper connections to

I genuinely would have given anything for them to have a moment where Reggie makes a callback to the ‘blowout in 2032’ line, and as the others start to riff off it, you can see Alex start to look really concerned. Because they all seem to genuinely believe they’ll still be playing together in twelve years
Just a really serious scene where Alex tells them that their band can’t last for long. That even if they don’t cross over or get destroyed, they’ll only be able to keep performing with Julie for a few years. Because eventually people are gonna realise that Julie’s the only one who’s ageing. The boys are gonna be stuck as teenagers forever, and in a couple years she’s gonna be older than them
Their already flimsy hologram story is gonna fall apart really quickly, and they can’t say they’re ghosts without fundamentally changing our understanding of the universe. After a while they’re gonna have no choice but to leave the band and let Julie become a solo act. The boys can never become legends, they’ll always have to be their bandmates’ tragic backstories
It would have been so devastating to go into as you just see the others realise that they won’t get to do everything they want together
