Shortened Writer's Statement
“What is The Shape of Your Heart?” is a short animation film that has a metaphorical meaning around hearts and how they function. The film's theme discusses the nature of emotions, how we experience these emotions and how it affects our hearts and shape it. The film is nothing less than an exploration of the self. It is a story that elaborates the dysfunction of the world causing equal dysfunction in people’s hearts, highlighting the constant effort in trying to learn how to survive.

Character Bio
SHAYMA: 29 years old, A cardiologist. Quiet, intelligent character. Takes her time in observing situations, people, ..bags of chips. She doesn’t seek anything unordinary, she only expects normality. Throughout the series, her character dramatically changes, she is a woman who’s about to get married, about to live her dream. Making comfortable socially accepted decisions, having a normal life the same as everyone. Through out the episodes she gets darker and darker with a strange acceptance for chaos. Constantly seeking superiority to make up for her extreme inferiority of her past self. Her intense sensitivity and heavy emotions is what drives Shaima into losing herself several times until she creates a path of self discipline and control.

The Nest
Tumblr media
A comedy drama adult animation series
Premise: Pakiza and Ayoub work for a housing company called The Nest. One day they go out to check an apartment but they meet Noah, a strange shop owner who accidentally transports Ayoub to another dimension where he experiences a multi-apocalyptic version of Cairo city. Pakiza and Noah go after Ayoub to find him and bring him back.
This animation series is an exploration of how individuals create a new order out of present chaos. How sensibility and culture fit together in the modern world. In addition to the overpopulation of the city and increasing environmental concerns that reshapes how individuals think, feel and act in the most existentially pervasive ways. The city keeps changing, collecting all these contradictory identities that pull in different directions and only seem continuous or stable because of the common culture narrative that individuals live by as a code. My focus is about the city and the self, how the self can be modified by society or remodified if the individual relocates to a different environment with a different set of rules.

One of the assignments from my scriptwriting MA program was to revive the beloved 90s series 'The X:Files' for a contemporary audience. The show should be a ‘passing of the torch’ to a new generation of investigators in the format of Young Adult/Children’s 20-minute animation
Martin Allen: (‘Stereotypical’ Caucausian American male. 30’s) Antonia’s new FBI partner, Behaves in a quiet and polite manner. An alien who has successfully disguised himself as a human after escaping his species. He works for the FBI to stop evil forces and keep track of his own people. Martin is fascinated with human life and takes what people say very literally, coming across as quirky and curious to Antonia and Pedro her son.
