And, obviously, the very name of the elixir is derived from the mythical island of Taoist immortals. obviously something Eirin made is going to be more "scientific" and refined than whatever mercury elixir Miko chugged but there is gradation of methods and outcomes in irl sources dealing immortality pursuit too
