Kit Walker Calming Your Anxiety

Summary- A fic of domestic Kit soothing your anxiety at home. And a fic of Kit soothing your nerves in Briarcliffe. A double whammy. Words- 475, 468, baby fics :3

DOMESTIC KIT

You lay down and put your head against the pillow on your respective left side of the bed. Or rather, you throw your body against the general direction of the bed and happen to fall in the right place. Your face barely makes it onto the right pillow, but you can’t be bothered to even correct it.

Kit walks into your bedroom and closes the door behind him, after putting the kids to bed. He perches on the edge of the bed and gets undressed for bed, and you close your eyes and sigh.

Kit freezes in his movement. Red alarm lights go off in his brain, hearing the exasperation in your voice and sensing danger. He turns around cautiously.

“Are you alright doll?”

You open your eyes and look at him, cheek still smushed against the pillow uncomfortably.

“Yeah”, you say quietly.

Kit takes his pants off and stays in a white vest and undies. He lays down, with his entire body parallel to yours.

“What’s wrong?”

“I’m tired”

Kit shakes his head. “I think something’s wrong, I can sense it”

You snort.

“I’m serious, sugar, I can tell when you’re not feeling the best”, he scootches closer to you and puts his arm around you.

“Talk to me”

You close your eyes, but even gathering your thoughts requires energy that you don’t have.

“I’m just so tired”, you whimper out.

“Okay, don’t talk to me”, he says, making you open your eyes to make sure he isn’t mad at your response. But much to your gratitude, he isn’t. Kit pulls you closer to his chest, sliding his arm under your head and reaching over, turning off the lamp on your bedside table. The darkness of the room helps you relax. Kit kisses your nose and puts his head on top of yours, smelling your hair.

“Whatever it is that’s upsetting you, I’m hear to help you”

“Kitten, it’s not that I don’t want to tell yo-”

“Shhh I’m talking”, Kit whines. You smile and wrap your arms around him.

“So many people’s lives are better because you’re a part of them”, Kit brushes his fingers through your hair.

“The feeling of anxiety and stress, it’s all temporary stuff, that’s not what matters, it’s the… the really solid stuff that’s important, friendship, and, love”. Kit’s soothing voice rocks you almost to sleep.

“The temporary, stressful stuff, that’s not important, it’s not life changing stuff, even though it might seem like it, as long as at the end of the day you sleep by my side, then it’s all gravy”. You exhale in amusement at Kit’s analogy and look up at him. When your eyes meet, Kit can’t decide whether he should keep looking at you and savouring your expression, or whether he should kiss you. Unfortunately, he decides to keep talking.

“You’re my gravy”

BRIARCLIFFE KIT

“I can’t believe she ruined our chances like that- what if that’s the last chance we had?”

With Lana ratting you and Kit out, it was hard to imagine the possibility of ever leaving Briarcliffe. Your mind started to wonder whether you were destined for a future in the asylum.

But Kit had only been in Briarcliffe for a few weeks longer than you, and he still remained hopeful and motivated to leave - you could only pray that you too wouldn’t stop yearning for freedom.

Kit puts his hand on your shoulder, “Hey”, he says softly. When you angle your face to look at him, the last sight you see with your teary eyes was the sight of guards taking Kit away, before promptly coming to grab your arms and take you back to your cell.

You spent the next hour curled up on your mattress, softly weeping to not attract attention. It’s not like you had many better things to do, it would be a few hours before Sister Jude finds out you and Kit tried to escape, and she canes you bloody. The thought made your previously delicate sobs turn into wails.

Your entire body flinches when you hear your heavy metal cell door open. Your heart skips a beat, and you sit up, anticipating that Judy was here to abuse her power. But much to your surprise, instead of a nun, you see a mechanic.

Kit gently closes the door behind him. You feel calmer at his presence, and when Kit warily sits down in front of you with a soft smile and a hand to wipe your tears, you smile too. Kit pulls your shoulder close to his chest, and you accept, fully pressing your face into his neck and breathing in the scent of the baby powder you’re both covered in after showers. He wraps his strong arms around your torso and squeezes you so tight, that it borders on uncomfortable. But it’s what you need.

“It’s gonna be alright”, he says confidently. Although he means well, it doesn’t stop tears from filling your eyes and sniffling. You shake your head.

“I don’t think so, there’s so many guards, so many p-”

“It’s gonna be alright”, Kit repeats, rocking you both forward and backward. “No matter the situation, we can get out of it together”

Kit puts his huge hands on your wet cheeks and wipes your tears with his thumbs. “I promise”. He smiles, so genuinely, that it’s hard not to believe him.

“You’re strong, you’re smart, we can get through absolutely anything together”

You shove your face against his chest, and he holds you close, with his cheek touching your forehead.

“What are you thinking about?”, he asks. You sniffle and stay quiet for a moment.

“Nothing”

“Perfect”, he smiles.
