Covid-19 Vaccination
As we all have been impacted by the pandemic Covid-19 for the past 2 years it has come the time where a vaccine has been released and the government is encouraging everyone to take this vaccine. Why should i take this vaccine? Is it safe? How can a disease be out for only 2 years and develop a vaccine so fast yet other diseases such as cancer has no cure yet? These are all questions most people might think about and can be a deciding factor in if they are willing or unwilling to take the vaccine.
Tumblr media
Globally there are a few companies which are producing these vaccines which include Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson's Janssen.
Tumblr media
Both my family and I have received our first dose of the vaccine and are waiting for our second dose. It is known that side affects may occur which i felt for a few days. I started to feel tired all the time and had a really bad headache. Surprisingly, my arm was not sore from the vaccine. Some side effects of the Covid-19 vaccine are headaches, nausea, joint pain, fever and fatigue (Canada, 2021). Many people are afraid to get the vaccine and so was i. Some people have gotten severe side affects such as being paralyzed and even caused death among some.
Tumblr media
Approximately 3.2 billion Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered worldwide and 940 million people are fully vaccinated. Canada is the leading country in vaccines administered with 43.4% of the total population fully vaccinated (Ritchie et al., 2020). Why get vaccinated? Well we all want the same end goal which is to get over this pandemic and return back to our normal lives. it has been 2 years since this virus has been around. Getting vaccinated allows up to a 95% effectiveness to prevent getting ill from the virus. (Mayo Clinic 2021). Additionally, by getting vaccinated it will not only stop the spread of Covid-19 but it will stop the virus from mutating into another virus such as the Delta variant.
Tumblr media
Now comes a huge question which a lot of people may ask. How is it possible that scientists were able to find a vaccine in such short time. It has been only 2 years since Covid-19 has been known to the World. Diseases such as cancer and HIV/AIDS have been around for more than 100 years. By thinking deeper into this question it really makes me think that this vaccine can be a complete lie or the government truly does have some sort of cure for other diseases but has just released it to the public. My personal belief is that there are cures for other diseases such as cancer but in order to have a controlled population on Earth they decided it's best to not release this cure. The world is overpopulated and it does make sense that they did not disclose this information. Have you ever thought about the government creating this virus in order to reduce the population? Well if this were the case then the government has succeeded with over 4 million deaths recorded worldwide.
Tumblr media
After doing extensive research i believe that each person should get vaccinated because in the end it will benefit us all. It helps reduce number of cases, stop variants from occurring and will allow us to return back to a normal lifestyle. As numbers do not lie it is proven that the vaccine has actually helped reduce cases. For example, in Ontario at one point we had over 4,800 cases per day and now with many of the population getting vaccinated we are down to less than 200 cases per day. On a global scale Covid-19 cases have reduced tremendously due to getting vaccinated. I hope you all learned some new things about Covid-19 vaccinations and hope you all stay safe!

Future Career Accountant vs Mechanic
Well, this is a tough decision but after experiencing both work fields and doing further research my decision has become very clear, which is to pursue Mechanics as my career.
I have a few family members who have careers within the business/accountant field. I was given the opportunity to come in to my aunt’s workplace and see what she does on a day to day basis working at an accountant firm. After my experience being there, I’ve came to realization that sitting at a desk and staring a computer screen all day it will end up driving me insane.

Accountant
Pros:
- Constantly growing industry  - Can work in any industry as accountant are needed for any type of business  - Healthcare benefits  - Many types of accountants which you can choose to become
Cons:
- Very stressful - Education is ongoing as you need to keep up with changes in the industry  - Long workdays up to 15 hours during busy season (Tax time) - Not a fun environment typically considered “boring” - Sitting and staring at a screen all day can cause headaches, eye weaknesses and back pain

Auto Mechanic:
(Kolbo, 2019)
Pros:

Cons:
- Unsafe working conditions  - Expensive equipment  - Physical strain on body  - Long and irregular hours
Even though a certain job pays more than another, you need to realize that job happiness is key. A lot of you might be reading this and thinking well more money means more happiness, this is not true at all. Think about this, you have to go get up early and go into work 5 days of the week do you want to wake up each and every day going to work feeling miserable? Or do you prefer to be happy and enjoy what you are doing?
Tumblr media
i grew up around cars as my father has always taught me simple things since I was 10 years old on how to do oil changes, tire changes, and top up fluids. I’ve grown a passion for cars on how they work and their overall appearance. When I was 17 i bought my first car with my own money which is a Mitsubishi Lancer and I have learned a lot by working on it as well as modifying it. I know that I will enjoy working as a mechanic because I am very knowledgeable about cars and I will be happy to go to become one because i will enjoy doing what i do.
Currently, I am enrolled in the accounting program but after I graduate I will be returning to school enrolled in the auto mechanic program at either Centennial or Durham College. My initial thought of going to school for both programs and not settling for one was to have a backup plan just in case one does not work out. Even though my mind has always been set on pursuing a career in mechanics I realized that accounting is a very good skill to have. If I wanted to start my own business having that background knowledge of accounting can come in very handy. I will continue to work hard and hopefully I will have my dream job.
After doing my research it has confirmed my reasoning as to why i will pursue my career as a mechanic. Main reason after researching is that approximately 70% of people are unhappy with their job. (O’Donnell,2018). I know that i can not work in a career which will make me miserable and unhappy which is why that i have chosen Mechanics over an accountant as a career. Another reason which i have realized after doing research is that accountants have particularly the same task each day which will get boring but compared to mechanics each day is a different task which keeps it interesting.
