Alumni of NY
Originally known as Rugged Sole, the Crown Heights, Brooklyn-basedsneaker store grew with the developing neighborhood in the span of 20-plus years. Recognized for supplying Utica Ave with crisp footwear and the hottest gears in urban fashion, Alumni’s predecessor found vast success locally, even opening a store of the same name in the West Village of Manhattan, where an equally strong clientele passed its door.
With changing trends and budding customer base, Alumni seeks to capture the local vibe Rugged Sole manifested, but also develop its customer base and identity to a much more varied audience. As the rebirth of Rugged Sole, Alumni maintains its family-oriented business acumen, but with much growth in branding, marketing, and merchandising, the store immediately stands out as one of the best in New York City’s sneaker landscape.
