Predatory interactions: Interaction between species which enhance the fitness of one species while reducing the fitness of the other.
Types of predator:
True predators kill and consume many other organisms.
Grazers attack many prey, consuming part, rarely causing death.
Parasites live on host tissue and reduce host fitness, but do not generally kill the host.
Parasitoids consume one host and invariably kill it.
So cows are predators, as are humans.
We may not do this directly, but the systems we have in place to harvest our food are still predatory, as they almost always involve the harvesting of living organisms.
Reminder that by true definition, cows are predators
