OK BUT CAN YOU IMAGINE JUSTIN GOING ON A FAMILY TRIP WITH THE JENSENS FOR THE FIRST TIME ONCE HE GETS ADOPTED
This has been sitting in my ask box for ages, and Iâm finally getting to it but I need this sweetness in my life rn so letâs go
Justin has never really been on a family trip before
His mom never had the money, and her boyfriends wouldnât have brought Justin on a trip if they won the freakin lottery
So when the Jensens find this out, naturally, they think it would be the perfect surprise gift to celebrate Justinâs adoption
The morning after he gets adopted, Lainie, Matt, and yes, even Clay, wake up early to make breakfast
When they finish, they go to wake up Justin by singing a very off tune version of âA Whole New Worldâ
He wakes up very confused but also very happy
When they serve breakfast, they give Justin his plate of blueberry pancakes last because they shaped his to have Mickey Mouse ears
Lainie is recording the whole thing on her cellphone
Clay is trying not to die of embarrassment over how corny his family is
When Justin looks at the pancakes, he doesnât really catch on
âThese are really good!â âJustin, do you know what itâs shaped like?â âUhhhhâŚâÂ
By the time Justin finally figures out theyâre going to Disney World, he just gets a look of âohhhhâ on his face before his eyes light up like heâs five years old again
Justin gets so excited the week leading up to it he canât stop singing Disney songs and jumping around âWEâRE GOING TO DISNEY WORLDâ âYes weâre going to Disney World, now would you please fold your laundry?â
When they finally board the plane, Justin gets a little nervous
He has the window seat with Clay next to him (Lainie and Matt are across the row) and his leg wonât stop bouncing
âAre you nervous or excited? I canât tell at this pointâ
âIâve never ridden a plane beforeâ
âOh yeahâŚwellâŚitâll be fine. Just like, close your eyes or something.â
Justin rolls his eyes. âThanks for the expert advice, Jensen.âÂ
âYou know, your last name is Jensen too now.â
âYeah well just because weâre brothers now doesnât mean Iâm going to stop calling you Jensen, Jensen.â
When they finally walk into Magic Kingdom for the first time, Justin tears up, but if you ask him, heâll totally deny itÂ
(Clay will never let him live it down â âYou cried because you saw Cinderellaâs castle! Youâre seventeen freakinâ years old!â)
Lainie insists on taking lots and lots of pictures
Every ride they do, every cool thing they eat, every landmark, even by the goddamn toilets, you could hear âThis looks like a great opportunity for a family picture!â *chorus of groaning*
Matt loves Epcot and trying out all the different food from around the world
Clay is actually living for the new Star Wars area
He canât stop rambling facts about the series every twenty seconds
He takes pictures with all the charactersÂ
When they meet the princesses, Justin blushes the deepest red in the world when Belle asks him if he thinks he would make a good prince
He just stammers out, âI- uh-uh- y-yeah. I- yeah.â
Clay canât stop laughing
âShut up, asshole. She was always my favorite when I was younger, okay?â
Lainie insists they go on all the classic rides at least once, including âItâs a Small Worldâ which Matt thinks is a pretty pointless and obnoxious ride
Matt ends up talking to another family while theyâre waiting in line
Matt is definitely one of those dads who will just casually strike up really long conversations with strangers
He introduces Clay and Justin as his sons, and he says it with such pride, Justinâs heart catches in his throat
Heâs never been addressed as someoneâs son in that way before, not even by his mom
It hits him all at once how lucky he is to have finally be a part of a family that loves and cares about him so much
Somewhere in the background, âGo the Distanceâ is playing
And Justin gives his new family a giant random group hug with the Herculesâ lyrics echoing around his mind, âI know every mile will be worth my while. I would go most anywhere to find where I belong.â
He couldnât help feeling like every mile was worth it, standing here, with his newfound family in Disney World
Yeah, it was definitely called the happiest place on Earth for a reason

Justin Foley-Jensen Adoption Headcanons
This was not requested, and I have requests I need to fill, but Iâm feeling extra about this rn so Iâm doing it
After Justin and Clay have their talk, they share the news with Clayâs parents
Lainie beams and embraces both of them
Matt just smiles and claps a hand on both of their shoulders
They ask Justin if heâd like to make their guest room his room
And he says yes
But itâs on the first floor and itâs too quiet and lonely at night
So he ends up sleeping in the upstairs hallway one night after a particularly bad nightmare
Clay wakes up early and literally trips over Justinâs head
Once Justin explains what happened, Clay just rolls his eyes, and says, âJesus, next time just come sleep in my room. Itâs not like I mind.â Then he shoves Justin good-naturedly, and says, âListen, you fucking detoxed from heroin all over my bedroom floor. You should know by know that you can come sleep in my room whenever.â
Lainie is the one who notices Justinâs been using again
She finds his stash when sheâs doing the laundry one day
When she asks him about it, he denies it, but once she shows him what she found he knows heâs busted
And then he just cries
Itâs like everything thatâs been building up for so long, and the shame within him for relapsing after he promised to get clean just hurts so bad
They took him in, and he feels like he doesnât deserve it
She just hugs him for a while and rubs his back, which makes him cry harder because he never really had comfort like this from his mom (or a mother figure) before
She tells him that theyâll get him into a program for recovery from substance abuse
It slips out before he can stop it, âThanks, Mom.â
It surprises both of them
But Lainie just smiles and kisses his forehead. âYouâre welcome, honey.â
When Clay finds out that Justin is going into a program, he tells him of when he had to sign up for a substance abuse program because of the weed that was planted on him at school
He assures him that the program will be good for him
Because obviously Clay knew he was nervous
Clay and Justin seem to have an intuition for each otherâs feelingsÂ
Matt is the one who tries to get Justin back into his hobbies
He offers to shoot hoops with him, even though heâs really bad at it
He helps Justin with his homework and is always patient with him in a way Clay sometimes isnât
They have family game nights and family movie nights
Theyâre always disgusting adorable and clichĂŠ
Matt never stops making dad jokes
Matt teaches Justin how to cook
Justin discovers that he really likes it
And he really likes having a family to cook for
On his adoption day, they all dress up and take lots of pictures (much to Clayâs and Justinâs dismay)
Justin decides to hyphenate his last name because as he put it, âI donât think I want to forget my past and where I came from butâŚI want to commit to this family, you know? I want your last name. You guys are the best thing that ever happened to meâ
Itâs a very emotional moment
A big family group hug ensues, started by Clayâs momÂ
They throw a big party for Justinâs adoption day with all his new relatives and friends
After people are starting to clear out, Justin and Clay are sitting on the side by themselves
Clay says, âYou know, I kind of always wanted a sibling growing up. Being an only child can be kind of lonely sometimes.â
Justin just smiles and punches his arm and says, âYouâre tellinâ me.â
They both just laugh
The Jensen family never felt so complete or whole
Even if they argue, they love and accept each other at the end of the day
And they make each other better people
