Electronic rock-opera and irrationally narrated dystopian tale about a human journey into the Dark Age of fear. Since decades future visions in a form of science fiction narratives offer us not more than a permanent struggle of the good over the evil, whether this evil is technology or the humans themselves. Entertainment became an inevitable part of our lives, but if most of these stories picture a future where everything we know comes to a collapse and there is no alternative, what kind of perception of the world tomorrow are we mediating the younger generations? Does the fear-propaganda, as a side-effect of capitalism, create a real threat to our future?

FULLY ACCESSIBLE BODY
Fully Accessible Body is a performance series created by Alla Popp & Alexander Sahm where they employ holograms and heartbeat sensors. It is a research on emotional communication with algorithms and on a live-performance experience where the presence of performers is not necessary.
In various phases this research has been a participatory performance event in which intimate experiences are generated through technology based on the audience’s biofeedback. The music, holographic bodies and their movements are generated algorithmically, based on the audience’s pulse/heartbeat rate, or better say - are feelings-based. The performance depends completely on the audience and does not take place without their individual BPM rates.
The project raises questions like: What makes a live-show experience so unique and special? How can we quantify and qualify feelings? How does an exchange between spectators and performers work? What does it feel like to be a digital popstar and how are they and their avatars paid? Do digital divide and certain experiences in digital technology influence the perception of the show? How can artists extend own physical capacities to do their beloved but underpaid work and still be able to create for the audience an immersive live-show with the help of various digital tools available on the consumer market?

Human performers: Anja Arncken, Mar Valverde, Dominik Keggenhoff, Hannah Müller, Sham Saifuddin

Visuals: Obby & Japparii, Pia Graf
Interactive live show which explores the empowerment of digital bodies in an interlude of the audience, real performers and interactive cyber avatars. Core tools in this project are HoloLens glasses and customized pulse sensors, through which 3D body-scans of Alla and Alex perform as holograms for the audience in an interactive way. The HoloLens receives bio-feedback of the person wearing a sensor in a form of an individual pulse rate, which algorithmically influences the movements of the holograms and the music.
Every person wearing the HoloLens, sees a different performance and receives an intimate personal experience. The algorithmically generated music, on a collective level, stays in a continuous feedback loop between all measured emotions of the audience and the collectively created room atmosphere.

FULLY ACCESSIBLE BODY: INSIDE THE HOLOGRAMS HEAD
„After our digital copies entered the world and gave some live shows, we realized an inevitability of distancing our personalities from their images and an opportunity to shape their vacant identities to become “ideal” pop stars based on audiences’ wishes, beliefs, opinions, perceptions and preferences. The holograms received their first ever interview questions posed by media representatives. These questions gave a direction for the answers, which became the base for holograms identity construction. This fictitious narrative and construction of their personalities continued online through their instant accessibility for a direct interaction with the audience via an online chat for about one month. This chat was based on an AI Bot, which was instantly learning and improving its communication overtime, based on audiences questions, comments and answers. A fictitious Hologram-Popstars fan-website was created as a presentation platform of their identity formation.“
The Private Show focuses on intimate, personal experience of the spectator, their emotional perception of a show and potential of such experience for the home entertainment market. Additionally a variety of merchandise items like “Dildo of Alex”, “Dildo of Alla” and “A Fleece Blanket” are offered, as well as the possibility to have a personal chat with your Hologramm Popstar via an AI chat.
