Because it seems like Dawntrail might actually feature IX references.. as we're getting the ARK mount and Zidane & Garnet minions .. I'm pressuring the boyfriend to play IX for the first time before Dawntrail releases.

I was going to wait until the voice mod [ Garnet, Freya, & Beatrix sound soooo good ] came out but gotta get fresh blood into IX.

I was right about VII OG and as much as the boyfriend is protesting a bit due to a bit of outdated combat [ if one doesn't like turn-based games; I think he does .. if it's Persona and just Persona ] he knows I was right that VII OG held a great story. IX does too; chef kiss.

it's been a while since i played ix though i remember disk 1 still quite well .. i'm waiting for the voice mod to come out to replay it [ garnet sounds incredible ]. but if i recall.. garnet was pretty prone to self deprication, though this was largely intenral than external.

makes me wonder of her childhood with brahne and the king. low self esteem doesn't often come out of nowhere. maybe her upbringing was a contributing factor. maybe it stims from all the all but repressed trauma from the escape from the invincable & having her horn sawed off.

pretty sure she was awake for that. think tot mentioned the child screaming.

ix is such a wholesome game, totally not serious and morbid with those graphics ~

questions plaguing my mind ;

why is Alexander protecting / resting / immobile to Alexandria Castle? is there a connection between the Alexandros family, Alexander, and Alexandria? was Alexandria formed in some kind of connection or honor of Alexander? what, if any, is the significance of the Alexandros family to Alexander? are the Alexandros family possibly a line of summoners? the horned people were not the only summoners to exist; if i recall correctly there were also a dwarven race that could also summon that died out to extension. and that's not getting into Eidolons existed outside of Gaia as Eidolons connected to Terra exist, taking on a more mechanical appearance

XIV is releasing Ark as a mount for pre-ordering and that pompted me to do just a lot of digging into IX in general and these questions won't get out my mind.

On some level, I do love having definitive answers to lore. I like knowing things. But there are times there is magic and wonder in not knowing. Take Majora's Mask for instance.. it would not be the same game to me and I'm sure much of its cult following if we got answers to every mystery and theory spun from it's whacky and cryptic world.

Kuja's mind was not something Garnet understood.. be it by he was a creature unlike any other or in a refusal to extend that olive branch, the result remained the same. His view on her, should she take him at his word was.. not expected.

Whatever innocence she had was corrupted by things this man moved in motion. The manipulation of her mother. The wars that were started and waged between kingdoms that were allies with only death and destruction in its wake. Eidolons were taken from her and used as instruments of terror. How could anyone remain innocent after the horrors she was exposed to?

When Garnet looked at this man what she felt was hatred .. and anger .. on a level she'd never felt with anyone. On a level that scared her.

Her cup of tea is brought to her lips, using it as a quiet moment while she gathered her thoughts. Setting it aside, her hands placed in her lap and her focus once more directs to him. She is not a sixteen year old princess anymore. She is a queen .. and Kuja's presence won't pull her back to a time she felt helpless. With a straightened back, she asks, "What is it about myself that has you thinking of me in those ways?"
