hiking wouldn't have been her first choice had it been up to her, but more often than not she was willing to go along if it meant ending with him between her thighs. she always had the best time with him though, no matter what they were doing. ❝ certainly not me. ❞ she shrugged, a playful smile forming on her face. ❝ i guess both of those are true, and i can't really argue with margaritas, sunsets, and good sex. ❞ a sharp gasp left her throat when he pulled her close, quickly followed by a laugh. ❝ i'd throw them all away for you if i could. ❞ her lips meet his jaw for a brief second before she's turning to face forward once he'd let go of her, her eyes set on the top of the hill ready to make it there already.

this was different from how they usually spent their time, though chase knew it would end the same. not a moment had gone by where he didn't think about having his hands all over her, so when he'd heard about the waterfall, it was almost his first thought. ❝ who says i'm waiting until later? ❞ chase grinned, taking a few steps to catch up to her. ❝ i'm always nice to you, and i'm always going to fuck your brains out. ❞ he smirked, as she turned back to face him. when she'd lifted the bra he had to admit that he was surprised, reaching out for the girl as he pulled her in close. ❝ i think you know that's one of my favorite sights. if i had it my way you'd never wear clothes. ❞ giving her ass a squeeze he finally let her go, knowing it wouldn't be possible to make it up the hill if he didn't.

truthfully, he could talk her into hiking everest and she knew it, but she was stubborn enough to put up at least a little bit of a fight before caving no matter the inevitable outcome. ❝ sounds like a good deal to me. ❞ she easily agreed, continuing on ahead. ❝ do you think so, or are you just being nice so you can fuck my brains out at the hotel later? ❞ a laugh escaped past her lips, turning her body to walk backwards on the trail to look at him. ❝ are you flirting with me, st. james? ❞ cove questioned jokingly, her fingers hooking into the bottom of her sports bra to pull it up momentarily flashing him before anyone else could see. ❝ what about this view? ❞

chase knew he could talk her into it, even if it meant he had to bribe her with margaritas or anything else. ❝ as many as you want, i'll even carry you back to the room. ❞ thankfully, she hadn't taken much convincing as she was agreeing. ❝ of course we can do that, i think it sounds like a great ending to the day. ❞ chase called out as he was following behind her, smirking as he caught a view of his own. ❝ and for what it's worth, your ass looks fucking phenomenal from back here. ❞ a little positive reinforcement never hurt anyone, and when it was true it all the motivation that chase had needed.

❝ no, but i wouldn't put it past you. ❞ she laughed, shaking her head slowly before moving her arms to rest at her sides, glancing up at him through squinted eyes, shielding them from the sun with her hand. ❝ i guess you're right, i do really want to see the view from up there, and i can't say i've ever done anything at a waterfall, that's a first. as many as i want? that's dangerous territory, but i think we should watch the sunset at the beach later, can we do that after? if we live to see it anyway. ❞ she teased, before turning to begin walking towards the trail slowly.

he hadn't told her about his plan, instead just dragging her out here and listening to the reaction that he gained. ❝ it's not that bad, c'mon, most people can do it 20 minutes. you really think i'd take you somewhere that we had to hike all day? ❞ he questioned, moving over to where she was, looking down at the girl, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. ❝ you're gonna love the view, plus i've got to show you something up there. you've gotta see the waterfall, and we could have a little fun too. i won't let you slip and fall, promise. and once we leave you can have as many margaritas as you want. ❞

"i mean maybe i did suggest camping, but that doesn't mean it's my fault we're lost, you're the one holding the gps." tj shook his head briefly, eyes focused on the road ahead of them. "fine, but does it really fix anything? we can put up a tent anywhere, right?"

“Oh so you’re saying it wasn’t your idea to go camping in the middle of nowhere where you didn’t check to see if the roads getting there were clear?” Thea asked as she tried to load the GPS on her phone again “Can we just admit we’re lost now”

truthfully, theo hadn't even told luke that he was coming over in the first place, he just knew that he wouldn't be there, and it wouldn't be out of the ordinary to find him here waiting if he did end up coming home early. "caitlyn, wait — " he huffed, stepping inside only to close the door behind himself. "yes, and you know there is." making up the distance between them, theo stood behind her with his hands at his sides, eyes rolling at her statement. "i never said i didn't want to be with you, but i wanted to be with you the right way, caitlyn. i'm not going to spend the rest of my life hiding my relationship from my best friend. i don't want to lose him, but i would've risked everything for you." a frustrated sigh slipped from his lips before he drug his hand through his hair, his gaze lingering on her. "if you weren't willing to do the same, i couldn't keep going down a path when we both knew the outcome."

i know? god, how caitlyn hated the way that simple sentence had reverberated inside of her: a strong heart beat led her whole body to weaken. theo's words were clearly meant to imply that he was there for her. it would be great, of course, if it was there for her in another way, in another circumstance other than the one they've left unfinished. "if you know then..." she could've shut the door at this point. there were so many things she could do to shut him out - literally and emotionally - at that point. why couldn't she, though? "great. wait by the living room then." leaving enough space for him to get in and regretting her choice of letting him in, caitlyn turned around and started walking away from him, trying at every cost to avoid looking at his face, once she knew her body would betray her. "is there anything to talk, really?" caitlyn kept on walking, slowly this time. "you kinda made it pretty clear of how much you do not want to be with me, as far as i remember."

"you've actually lost it if you think i'm hiking that." she argued, arms folded across her chest as she focused her gaze on the other, the tip of her sneaker kicking at a stone in the dirt. "it's wet, we'll slip and fall, and our bodies will float god knows where." maybe she was being a little dramatic, but it wasn't exactly what she imagined herself doing on their vacation, and heights hadn't been on her list of favorites either. "i'm pretty sure when i suggested a trip, i meant margaritas and sandcastles, not death and waterfalls."

if theo knew anything about his best friend, it was not to mess with his sister. which was exactly why he dreaded nothing more than the possibility of him finding anything out, even more so now. not that he'd wanted to keep it a secret, and he didn't regret a second of it, but he'd kill him if he knew. still he considered the risk when he couldn't get her out of his head every time they crossed paths. "i know." he admits, hands shoved deep in his pockets as he stood outside the door. "i'm not here for luke — i mean... i am, but i came early." he raises his hand to rub the back of his neck awkwardly, a heavy sigh leaving his lips. "look, i'm not here to fight with you, but i think we should at least talk."

it started as a secret, it should remain as such. this was probably the hardest agreement caitlyn's ever done. of course she didn't like the idea of hiding something from her brother, but still... she knew how overprotective luke was: he would never allow such a thing to happen. by the end of it all, caitlyn thought it should never happen, in fact... which made her brother right, then? so what was all of it, but a huge waste of time? "luke's not here." she said it, in a cold way as she opened the door and saw him. "he's in some course or whatever. won't be home early, so you can go now."
