MAGAZINE REFLEXION
The central premise of this Magazine is that humans are disconnected and alienated from Nature and it proposes that we need to attempt to restore this connection in order to overcome the current socioecological crises which threaten our survival as a species on the planet.
In light of my research question I propose that spirituality could serve as a bridge between humans and Nature. The understanding of spirituality which informs my approach implies a heightened awareness or consciousness, the capacity for deep reflection and compassion, and a profound sense of what it means to part of the web of life – to be another living, breathing, sentient being in Nature without the hierarchies which are often dictated by religious forms of spirituality.
The process of writing up this Magazine has largely been a spiritual experience for me. It has heightened my awareness, provided me the space for deep reflection, and renewed my own connection with Nature.
Apart from all the creative learning that the process of creating this magazine gave me, it also gave me the opportunity to make my small contribution to the transformation I aim to see.
In terms of the creative journey, I’m happy to say that I enjoyed so much all the process, from the research to the creative part, I did an expense research ( I would never imagine myself before being so focused into the investigation) I discovered a range of artists that create with the aim for a better world and a better understanding of human and nature relationship, as well I’m so proud of the aesthetic that I achieved, and the layouts I created, I think they are eye catching and that’s a think I really wanted to have in the pages of my magazine.
I like to say that my magazine is a journey to reconnect with Nature and those not represent any particular social group, my aim is to be addressed as much people as I can.
I’ve been working with InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, I already had experience with those platforms before, from my previous magazine, this fact made the creation of my magazine more fluid and relax.

PHOTO SHOOT EVALUATION
The photo shoot took place in one of the studios (in campus) I used my friend Lia as a model, I wanted to transmit something raw and wild but at the same time really soft, I went to the park and took some flowers, organise a little place with lots of flowers and I dressed her with a white dress, basically the message of the images is the connection of humans and nature and the roots that we all have (nature and love), that’s why I used natural elements.
The final results was way better than the one I expected, the pictures ended up being so powerful and conveying the topic and the aesthetic of my magazine.
As well I’m quite happy with the editing process, Some of the collages I created needed up being so nice and with harmony with the layouts of the magazine, anyway I think I can still work a little bit more with it and create something else that works with the aesthetic of the magazine.

FLAT PLANS
As talked in my feedback I started to plan the spreads of my magazine with flat plans, it helped me so much because now I already have the design of my magazine and when I’m working on it I don’t spend a lot of time thinking in the layouts because they are already planned.
So useful
