"It wasn't too bad." She replied, humming as they walked. It had been busy at times, of course, but Alara had never felt like she was out of her depth, which was nice. And she had learned so, so much, working with all different types of strange and uncommon materials. She couldn't help the chuckle at the way Aubrey put hands on her head, feigning imminent pressure. "You definitely included." The brunette smiled, already enjoying the other woman's company. And Alara had found Aurora Bay pretty inviting so far. "One." She agreed, nodding with a smile. “Valid, fucking valid, I bet it was like a really high pressure job.” Aubrey put her hands either side of her head as if to illustrate the pressure she was talking about - knowing she wouldn’t be able to cope with that kind of thing. After all in her mind if Alara didn’t do her job properly then acrobats were going on stage and doing backbends in costumes that could potentially fall off at any second. Not really the reputation Cirque Du Soleil were going for she was pretty sure. “Well, you picked a good place for it. I haven’t been here a huge amount of time but Aurora seems lie a chill place and there are so great people here, myself obviously included.” Flicking her hair with a joking laugh as she did so, not really counting herself among those she thought were worthy of falling under that umbrella. “Just one, a little baby one.” Wiggling her pointer finger to denote the number as she started to lead the way to the Mexican restaurant, turning it into a beckoning sign after a couple of seconds. @alaraxdemir

Alara let out a small chuckle. "I mean... lots of places are named after things that they don't actually contain. And Black Cat Café does have a ring to it, even if it didn't have actual cats." But Alara loved that it did. While she had done a few hours volunteering at the animal shelter taking some dogs for walks, it was a little depressing down there. Here had a much better vide, plus it served coffee and treats. As much as Alara would love to have an animal of her own, she was living in her cousin's house for now, and she was already running her little sewing business from there. She wasn't going to push things by asking for a pet. So spending time at the kitty café was the best thing right now.

evelyn watched as the customer walked out of black cat cafe. "its funny, y'know - you would think that people wouldn't be as surprised when they walk in here that there are actual cats. i mean, it's in the name," she rolled her eyes and laughed softly. she leaned forward by resting her hands against the counter. evelyn was definitely the split between an introvert and extrovert. she was able to turn it on when she needed to. and in this case, she was at work; a place where she needed the bubbliness of her personality the most. although some of it was forced, a majority of it was genuine with who she was.

"maybe i was too harsh?" she phrased rhetorically. "not your problem, anywho - what can i get you?" evelyns eyes were fixed on the woman across from her with a gentle smile.

Alara had never quite seen anything like the flower festival that Aurora Bay was hosting at the moment. It was absolutely gorgeous, and it seemed like the whole town had gotten involved. The nice weather was also drawing out a crowd of people to enjoy it all, which was sweet to see. Pausing at the local bakery's stall, Alara couldn't help the light laugh that bubbled up at seeing the woman who was putting out a fresh tray take one off for herself to have a bite. At being noticed watching, a blush touched her cheeks. "I mean--- it's a pretty good endorsement that you want them that badly. I probably should get one or two for myself." @thelizaxlevin

location - sweet nothings booth at the festival

This time last year Liza's life was totally different but one thing that was still the same was how much she loved this festival and so she'd been working on the menu for weeks, wanting to try making new things that she felt people would enjoy. She was planning on spending a lot of the time with her husband and daughter during the festival but also wanted to make sure the bakery's booth was going well which is where she was now, setting out a fresh batch of macarons and she snagged one for herself, a bashful smile pulling onto her lips as some passerby's could clearly see her eating them.

"Just taste testing?" She offered with a laugh, "Can I tempt you with anything?"

Alara hadn't quite realized what the place was when she'd wandered in, but it seemed to many people were flocking to it that she couldn't help but be curious. She was still exploring the town, and it seemed every other day that she found a new street or business she hadn't been into before. But when she realized it was some kind of super trendy bar, Alara couldn't help but feel out of place. "Oh I--- I don't think I can." "Oh, that would be so overwhelming." At least for Alara, so she could understand why the shift felt much longer than normal. "I'll have to take your word for it, I haven't actually been inside. “Not longer than normal but my first in a new hospital so I think it felt a lot longer. At the old place I was at I knew it like the back of my hand, here not so much.” Julia smiled, sure she looked as tired as she was feeling, but glad the woman she’d accidentally pushed in front of wasn’t being an asshole about it. “And it’s a big hospital for such a small town.” Giving the waitress a smile as they set down the milkshake, nodding towards it as she took a sip. “Good? People who bully others. Alara was bullied in high school, and while it was mild compared to some cases, she just can't understand how a person can get pleasure from putting someone else down. It makes her nervous, but she'll do her best to step in when she sees bullying happening.

The question of why she'd left a job like Cirque Du Soleil to come to Aurora Bay left her a little off guard. "I just-- needed a break." She offered, not really wanting to talk about the disastrous break-up that had left her questioning herself. "You don't need to pay me back." She insisted, shaking her head. When Aubrey offered free drinks at Oasis, Alara didn't say that she didn't really drink all that often, but it would still be cool to know somewhere there. She hadn't been in there yet, thinking the place looked a little imposing, but if she knew Aubrey was there, then she could find the courage. "I'm guessing it was a long shift?" She asked, giving a small gesture to the scrubs the woman was wearing. Alara didn't know if certain local places had certain colours or anything, but she wouldn't recognise them anyways, being so new to town. A moment later, the milkshake was set down in front of her, Alara thanking the waitress as she wandered off. "But no, not holding me up." A smile as she hummed, taking a sip. Julia never had any intention of pushing in front of people - for them to be ordering at the diner right now meant they probably needed some sort of comfort food so it wasn’t really her place to place her need above theirs. However, the doctor inside her wanted to remind everyone to go easy on the fried food, but her chicken strips were more pressing right now. "That's sweet." Alara had always wondered what it would be like to have an older brother. She was starting to get to know Bora, and while a cousin wasn't nearly the same thing, he was the closest family she had apart from her parents. So that was special in its own way. “ yeah, I ended up being the oldest and the only boys, so it kind of made me become that protective big brother the whole time.” Sully noted. He wonders if he had been born in a different order if you would’ve been able to try to keep his siblings together. But he knows that because he was the oldest he had to do. Alara was still learning her way around Aurora Bay. How was it that should could navigate a bustling city with no problems, but this sprawling little beachside town sometimes left her feeling turned around? She actually never lived by the beach before, and so the genuine surf shop was a little bit of a novelty to her. When the voice called out, Alara felt her face heat a little. "Oh, sorry. No I'm not buying anything." A little bit of guilt crept in at being in the shop without the intention of getting anything. It made her feel a bit like a tourist.. which maybe she was. @almakhalif

"you buying anything or just looking?" alma calls out from behind the counter, consolidating the cash and eftpos purchases made throughout the day. she can't quite catch the face of who it was through the shelves, and it was way too late in the evening for any effort of a 'customer service voice' as she hyper focused on counting the pile of twenty dollar bills in her hand. "doesn't matter either way, i just got twenty minutes to clean and shut this place down for the night." it's not necessarily the urge to shut the store down in timely matter, rather there was a beach bonfire going on at the beach was giving her an excessive FOMO itch.

Alara found the other's rambling quite entertaining, bringing a smile to her features as she listened. "Um, not so much a designer, but a seamstress. I worked with Cirque Du Soleil before I moved here." She'd had nothing to do with designing those costumes, mostly just maintaining them. But she had done some designing back in high school. Maybe she should go back to that if she found herself with some free time. She'd put up a post about being a freelance seamstress in the local community Facebook group, and had had a few people inquire, but Alara wasn't sure if it would take off or not. Are you are designer as a job?” She asked with genuine interest, not something she could ever do in a million years since she’d probably just stab her fingers with the needles so much she’d have to stop after a very short amount of time.
