Can I be real with you for a second?
Not every startup needs to hire a social media team. A lot of them shouldn't.
There are 2 factors to consider here.
(1) Do you have product market fit, or signs of it?
(2) Do you have the budget to pay someone (whether it be in-house or an agency) to run your social content engine for long enough?
Criteria number 2 is a function of criteria number 1. Your product must have momentum.
Building a social media presence that generates demand is a Herculean task when you don’t have happy customers who want to pay you.
If you’re in this stage, I don’t think you need a social presence as part of your GTM motion. But, if you wanted to start posting, I would recommend your founder just post what he or she can.
(Side note: the founder or early team posting will make it easier to hire and outsource to a SMM or agency down the line)
I always tell prospective clients:
I want to pour gas on the flames.
I don’t want to rub sticks together.
Also, worth mentioning, you can pour money into social if you’re pre-PMF but have a lot of conviction in your product and have a boatload of VC cash to burn. Would I recommend it? Depends. Can you do it? That’s up to you, lol.
At Compound Content Studio we typically don’t work with startups that lack happy customers and case studies.
What do you think? At what point would you make a social or content hire?
PS: I post about social strategy for B2B startups every day here on LinkedIn. If that sounds helpful, follow along 🤝

Do you want to backlink from google?? Just follow it
Google stacking (also known as Google entity stacking) is an SEO strategy that involves building links to your website using Google properties. These properties include:
Google Docs
Google Sheets
Google Maps
Google Forms
Google Slides
Google My Business
YouTube
By creating and sharing content on these properties, you can create backlinks to your website. Backlinks are links from other websites to yours, and they are one of the most important factors that Google uses to rank websites in search results.
Google stacking is a relatively new SEO strategy, but it has the potential to be very effective. This is because Google properties are trusted by Google, and the links that they create are more likely to be seen as valuable by Google.
However, it is important to note that Google stacking is not a magic bullet. It is still important to create high-quality content and to build links from other high-quality websites. Google stacking can be a useful way to supplement your SEO efforts, but it should not be your only strategy.
Here are some tips for using Google stacking effectively:
Create high-quality content on Google properties. This content should be relevant to your website and should be optimized for your target keywords.
Share your content on social media and other channels. This will help to get it in front of more people and to generate backlinks.
Use relevant keywords in your content and in your backlinks. This will help Google to understand what your content is about and to rank it accordingly.
Be patient. It takes time to build backlinks and to see results from Google stacking. Don't expect to see overnight results.
If you are looking for a way to improve your website's SEO, Google stacking is a strategy that you may want to consider. However, it is important to do your research and to understand the risks involved before you start stacking.

Do you have retargeting campaigns in your marketing strategy?
I recently had an amazing retargeting ad experience with Crocs after seeing their organic Instagram content of a woman combatting the "You can't wear Crocs in the winter" mantra. She proceeded to unbox these chic fur-lined Croc boots that paired with her outfit perfectly.
I was in love and I needed these boots 🤩
I clicked on the Crocs website and saw the price tag…
They were at 25% off already, but I got cold feet and just couldn’t make the purchase.
What was Crocs doing while I left the website without purchasing?
They served me a retargeted Instagram ad with the exact boots I was looking at offering an additional 20% off the original deal. I saw this advertisement the next day on Instagram.
I clicked because I couldn't believe it! The price was down even more and I could not pass it up, I bought those boots.
They are arriving December 7th and don't worry I will let you know if these boots live up to the hype that I saw on Instagram.
The purpose behind why I am sharing my Crocs customer journey is to show that you have to cover all your bases when trying to acquire new customers and truly understand the customer journey. Where are your customers coming from? Do you have retargeting advertisements set up on social when they leave the website without purchasing? Do you have an abandoned cart email or sms sequence set up for when a customer gets to enter their credit card details and they just leave?
Crocs knows that people may be on the fence, so retargeting them with an ad or two can push them to make that final purchase. I’ve also included screenshots of the two ads I saw.
