Depression

Depression is crying in your bed at 5 pm on a Tuesday.

Depression is not having the mental or physical energy to eat even though all you’ve had today is a cup of black coffee.

Depression is driving to work and fighting with everything you have in order to not swerve into a tree.

Depression is letting go of every emotion because all you can manage to feel anymore is the void inside your stomach that just seems to get bigger and bigger.

Depression is having 23 good days in a row and then waking up one morning fighting the urge to swallow every pill you have.

Depression is looking at someone you love and suddenly feeling nothing.

Depression is the black that sits inside your pupils.

Depression is your cold hands when everything else seems to be warm.

Depression is void of anything and everything.

So my actual GP is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. So I have had to resort to going to the goddamn UNI for councelling. Pretty sure a councellor can’t help me with what I need help for. CBT didn’t. Meds didn’t. Recently transpired that I have pretty much been dealt the worst of childhood hands. It explains why I am a complete  and utter fuckup. It explains why I am a failure at everything I try. Destined to a life of shitty dead end jobs because I can’t even stick it out at uni. fucking deferral. I doubt I’ll go back. I can’t even stick to going to burlesque classes that I fucking LOVE going to, let alone going back to finish a fucking degree.

The list of shit that got dealt to me at an early age would likely have caused some people to kill themselves. Believe me, I have tried multiple times. Including very recently. But the icing on the cake is realiing that my own fucking MOTHER made me believe I was a liar for over 20 fucking years. What the actual FUCK is that about?
