Do you know any way to help a dog get over fear of a teeter? I've taught my dog how to do most of the basic obstacles but he refuses to go on anything with a contact point because he thinks they all either move like the teeter or make the noise (1/2)

(2/2) even though he’s seen other dogs go over them without it doing any of the things a teeter does

I haven’t trained my dog in agility obstacles in years, but from what I remember the best method that worked for us is making sure it doesn’t crash on the ground. You can use a plank of wood raised a little off the ground (like on two chairs) to desensitize with heights. Using food as a lure to help them move across and rewarding heavily when they walk across. Eventually move up to a real teeter but hold the other side as the dog walks across so it doesn’t slam down. That’s the only advice I can give, since we haven’t done it in so long. 

 I know I have some followers that are active in agility that could help out! Anyone have tips?
