i’m the only person who will go into the basement alone in my cousins house because of all the scary shit that happened a month ago, and I was down there doing laundry earlier and someone whispered something in the hall, and I thought my friend had come down and was fucking around but nobody was there, and I don’t have the heart to tell my friends about it because they’re already so scared and it’s my fault in the first place 🥲 my makeshift bedroom is in the living room next to the basement stairs and every night i’ve been here i feel like someone is standing there at the top staring at me so i’ve been waiting until the sun comes up to sleep

when u wake up a little and are like “i know what would take this from a 10 to a 100” and u roll over and experience mind melting euphoria before u fall back asleep… best part of being alive. humans were made for beddy bye

reading vincent van goghs letters and he keeps repeating the same thing.. that i may be of use in the world. he repeats it over and over, in questions, in musings, in desperation. how can i be of use in the world? (the most precious question!) how can i be of use in the world? (how can anyone?) reminds me of that mary oliver quote: to pay attention, this is our endless and proper work. if i were any more insightful i could say something profound here, but i think if we keep focused attention on the question, we may find a way to be of some good. like rilke meant. by loving the questions themselves, we may one day stumble upon the answer.
