muse a and muse b used to date. they were fire and music, balls of passion and spontaneity (lets get matching tattoos or run from this town?? down, lets go) until they blew up. after a horrid break up, muse a moves onto someone new, someone stable, some good for them, but boring. their life seems to be a neverending loop of staleness … until they run into muse b again that breathes life into them. will they chase the fire, or stick to what they’re used to?

muse a is desperately in love with muse b. the thing is, muse b is this super popular person (in school, amongst peers, literally a celebrity, you choose). muse b might give muse a the time of day, but it’s clear muse a’s heart is way more in this relationship that muse b’s. or is it? maybe muse a starts to see their worth and walk away just as muse b begins to return those feelings.

muse a is painfully shy. it’s the summer before everything changes and they run into muse b, someone who washes the fear away from them. after 91 days of constantly being together, it’s time for them to part ways. maybe this is the one thing that muse a is still afraid of  –––  losing b.

vocablos ajenos la atan al presente. una especie de jaqueca obnubilada no le permite rememorar horas anteriores, por lo que empujando a través de la bruma confusa, coraje se enfoca en lo que parece ser nueva realidad . ‘ estoy un poco dormida, es todo . ’ comisura se alza, dibujando sonrisa suave sobre carmines . intento de comenzar desde cero, una bienvenida más dulce al que parece ser su nuevo compañero de piso. una dulce mentira, envuelta en su propia ignorancia. ‘ no — no, no hace falta . debí olvidarme que llegabas hoy, pero no tienes que irte . esta también es tu casa ahora, ¿no? ’ su mente intenta darle forma a la ausencia de erin duval . amiga desde el primer semestre universitario que parecía haberse esfumado de un momento a otro . pasos que retumban sobre piso de madera antigua, dúo de cajas que la espera en entrada abierta y que son rápidamente tomadas por sus manos para despejar portón y finalmente cerrarlo. mudanza que pinta gran salón se hace más real, sonido de lluvia torrencial golpeando con fuerza los cristales que les separan del mundo exterior. ‘ yo soy mali . ’ presentación fugaz que se da en un susurro. irises de pardo color no demoran en deslizarse hasta el comienzo de pasillo principal. ‘ uhm, si quieres te muestro tu nueva habitación . antes era de erin, la chica que vivía acá hace unos meses . ’ fémina se abre paso entre desorden, cajas todavía ajustadas entre sus brazos y torso hasta avanzar a la última habitación de aquel duplex. ‘ en el segundo piso hay un tipo de cuarto de estudio y la terraza . normalmente hay agua caliente, pero a veces no funciona . te recomiendo ducharte antes de las 9am . ’

arrebol de confusión es sentimiento floreciente. marrones intentan pobremente ubicar de dónde renace sensación de desasosiego desde un punto físico, pero psique termina clausurando sospechas bajo un falso pico de estrés. vocablos ajenos la arrancan de ensimismamientos, aire que se queda atascado en branquia mientras posa dúo de irises curiosos en ánima que entra a su espacio. ‘ ¿qué? ’ apenas palabra de tres letras logra crear. mirada que estudia rostro en búsqueda de colocarle un nombre familiar. ‘ ¿tú quién eres? ’ tono femenino denota un desconcierto ante interrogantes, orbes que viajan hacia derredor para notar por primera vez lo que parece ser mudanza activa en aquella sala de estar. ¿dónde estaba erin? no podía recordar la última vez que vio a su anterior compañera de piso, y mucho menos lograba rememorar cuándo fue la última vez que había probado bocado. esfuerzo que es en vano, ya que preocupación es empujada al olvido. un ahínco sobrehumano ( o tal vez simplemente testaurdez ) que desea enfocarse en el presente y sus dudas tangibles. ‘ t — tú, ¿vas a vivir acá? ’ el repiqueteo de la lluvia sobre ventanales ayuda a teñir situación de un lúgubre tono. par de espíritus que en medio de apartamento se observan en silencio sepulcral. ‘ lo siento. y-yo no recuerdo — ¿cómo es tu nombre? ’

            su ceño se frunce en cuanto escucha respuesta, sus músculos se tensan y ni siquiera está seguro de la razón. Pequeña parte de su razón le pide que se acerqué a la muchacha para verificar su condición, pero impulso se contiene y este sólo se refleja en una mirada de consternación  ❝ ¿Te has golpeado la cabeza recientemente? ❞ cuestiona con desfachatez, casi olvidando que es la primera vez que habla con ella, inclinando su cabeza al tiempo, tal cómo lo haría un cachorro cuando escucha un sonido que no es capaz de comprender. Es sólo un par de segundos después de vociferada aquella pregunta que su cerebro logra conectar un par de hilos, o al menos cree que lo ha hecho  ❝ Mi nombre es Garam, renté el departamento hace poco …   Creí que la casera te avisaría ❞ aprieta sus labios, mostrándose avergonzado hasta entonces; aún sostiene la caja y el silencio que sigue cuando termina de hablar se siente tan pesado como la misma  ❝ uhm … ¿Debería irme? ❞ cuestiona, pero no existe seriedad en la pregunta y esta sólo va a acompañada de una sonrisa divertida  ❝ ¿Tienes el corazón de echarme en plena lluvia después de que ya le he dado todo mi dinero a una viejita aprovechada? ❞ tiñe las palabras de toda la simpatía que es capaz de mostrar, a pesar de la incomodidad que se instaló en él en cuanto la muchacha había hablado, misma que aún permanece en él en parte, pero siendo incapaz de mostrarla al notar en facciones ajenas mayor confusión que en él  ❝ No estamos inciando con el pie derecho esta relación. ❞
