Initially, he had very much been opposed to leaving the manor grounds without the young master - especially given his currently poor state. He had his reasons for being against the idea - reasons Lady Elizabeth were (fortunately) not privy to. The young Lord knew as much, yet he seemingly insisted that the pair would be off to London.

Needless to say, with Lady Elizabeth glued by her fiancé's side, Sebastian was not in a position where he could argue against his master and remind him that he would be of no good at all should the boy's health go south even further - at least not beyond a surface level...

An order is an order though and, in the end, Sebastian would simply have to rely on the staff to take care of their master while Sebastian was away. Which hopefully wouldn't be too difficult, even for them, given that the boy would most likely remain bedridden the majority of the day.

"Naturally," The butler offered her an affirmative nod of his head, along with a polite smile. "I am certain that, whatever you'll bring him, it will surely brighten up his day by a tenfold." With a quick glance drawing towards the window, he continued. "And with such delightful weather today, I'm confident our journey will be a swift one."

"Do you have any particular items in mind for our shopping excursion, my Lady?"

Eyes that resembled beautiful emeralds shift towards the window as the city came into view. Truly, it is a sight the young noble women never tires of. There was something so peaceful about going into the big city to go shopping, even in the purpose of this shopping trip was due to a dire circumstances. Her dearest Ciel had fallen ill, and it was up to her as his fiance, to do all she could to make him feel better. So, what better way then to bring him some gifts from the city?

Though, considering she snuck out to go and see him, she couldn't do such an important mission on her own. It wasn't safe for a noble like herself to travel unattended, especially one as youthful as Lady Elizabeth. That's why she had asked the Phantomhive Butler to accompany her today, the man clad in black currently sitting across from her in the Phantomehive's very own carriage seeming to, at least from her point of view, seeming to enjoy the ride.

"Thank you again for accompanying me today, Sebastian. I know that together, we can find Ciel the most perfect and cute get-well gifts he's ever seen! He is going to love them so much that his dreadful cold will vanish instantly! After all, the power of love can overcome anything!"

His features saddened after the butler's words, but when he mentioned the nanny, a small smirk sprouted. "She's...probably... seeking for... us." A little giggle escaped." I'm sorry... i won't interupt you again...it's just..." a sigh escaped as his reason was not claimed."Can't I stay here with you? I promise I won't interupt again! I can help..."

The boy's tiny smirk did not escape the butler, meeting it with a slight raise of his eyebrow - betraying a hint of curiosity. The response was not entirely unexpected, really. Yet, a part of him had dared to hope that it wasn't so... A fool's wish.

Turning around on the spot, the child still comfortably cradled in his arms, Sebastian took a brief look around in disbelief, crimson gaze searching for the absent nanny. It appears her skill in both searching and keeping the child within her vicinity is equally lacking.

"... Very well," He finally lets out a deep, measured sigh before turning his attention back to the boy. "You shall remain at my side until I've located the nanny. However-" He gave the child a lingering, knowing yet warning look. "I must insist that you refrain from offering assistance. I simply cannot allow it," Not only would it most likely only result in giving Sebastian more work than what it's worth, but also-- "It would hardly be fitting for a servant of the Phantomhive household should they pass on their duties to a child of the family."
