HISTORY
0 ABY – Upon the lush planet of Arkanis, amidst the rage of a monsoon, a child is born. Tears line the young mother’s eyes, for she knows that this boy shall never truly be hers. The child’s father is too powerful to refute –and who would believe the words of a lowly kitchen maid?
Armitage Hux was born at the Imperial Academy on Arkanis. He was raised by the Academy’s Commandant, Brendol Hux, and his wife Maratelle. Maratelle, who could not bear children reveled in the gift of a son, despite this miracle stemming from her husband’s infidelity. Brendol, on the other hand, was quite displeased by the small, wiry boy that was to become his only heir. He found Armitage unworthy of his name and often neglected and mistreated the boy, using harsh, corporal punishment to forge him into a weapon. Maratelle did all she could to shelter and nurture her son from Brendol, until Armitage was kidnapped from her by Brendol at age five.
5 ABY – Amidst a New Republic siege on Arkanis, Brendol Hux was evacuated with the aid of a bounty hunter, enroute for Jakku, where a council of remaining Imperial Leaders was assembling. Leaving his wife and his son’s mother behind, Brendol placed his son Armitage in the care of a nanny droid while he focused on his task to mold a pack of desert orphans into the next generation of stormtroopers. Brendol’s hunger for power entices him to pledge his loyalty to Fleet Admiral Rax, one of two leaders of the Imperial Remnant. –Favoring Rax over the idealistic, imperial reformist, Grand Admiral Sloane. To Brendol’s chagrin, Rax grants five year old Armitage shared command of the teen soldiers. —A taste of power that awakens something within the frightened child.
Inner turmoil stirs the winds of change within the Remnant, sewing chaos and betrayal. After framing Sloane and declaring her dead, Rax takes control of the remnant and initiates The Battle of Jakku —an element of Emperor Palpatine’s contingency plan that is meant to destroy the remaining forces of the Empire and Rebellion in one last stand.
Injured and determined, Grand Admiral Sloane returns. She slays Rax with the help of a rebel pilot and prevents Jakku from imploding by disabling a self destruction system Rax initiated. Sloane commandeers a stowed replica of Palatine’s yacht and travels to the unknown regions with Brendol Hux, five year old Armitage and the troop of teen soldiers. She makes a pact with young Armitage, vowing to protect him from his abusive father as long as Armitage uses his command to prevent Brendol from assassinating her via the teen soldiers. Armitage concurs and a delicate bond is formed.
Wild winds howl, treacherous seas churn, the heat of the desert stakes its claim on those who do not have the will to withstand its savagery; yet Grand Admiral Sloane persists. —Traversing untamed planets within the deepest dregs of space as her following grows. Former Imperial loyalists band together with new recruits to feed the growing flame of a new Empire.--A militaristic government void of excessive violence and the cult-like practices of its predecessor.
The first few years are hard, Sloane and her scouts camp out on wild planets on the edge of the galaxy and within the unknown regions; fleeing from New Republic forces, scoping out safe spaces for new bases and recruiting worlds who have lost fate in the rekindling government. Young Hux accompanies her, facing perilous terrains and learning to survive in harsh climates. Traveling with Sloane and enduring his father’s mistreatment, during the Grand Admiral’s absences, sharpens the boy’s mind and hones his survival skills. He becomes quick, clever and agile; like many of the small jungle creatures who evolve to outwit their predators. The ways of the wild teach Armitage that venom is more lethal than strength… It is those who play that long game that claim victory over the stalking beasts of their domain. Thus he remains quiet, observant, and patient in the shadows.
12 ABY – Wisened by the journeys he has embarked on, a 12 year old Hux begins First Order Junior Academy two years ahead of schedule. Worldly wisdom and a natural inclination for mathematics and critical thinking makes him a favorite amongst his professors, to the other students’ chagrin. A social pariah amongst the student body, Armitage throws himself into his studies, determined to prove to his father and all that oppose him that he is worthy of his rapid advancement.
13 ABY – Hux ends his year at Junior Academy with high marks, claiming a spot in the Specialized Engineering Academy upon the Star Destroyer Eclipse. Recognizing his inherent genius and flawless dedication, Grand Admiral Sloane supports the cadet by delegating members of her team to train Armitage in short and long range, shooting, combat and military strategy. –unofficially claiming him as her successor. Exceeding all expectations, young Hux is admitted to accelerated courses and placed on specialized assignments that allow students to shadow and collaborate with members of the First Order Engineering department.
16 ABY – He takes his internship aboard the Grand Admiral’s flagship; a maneuver that enhances the animosity between Brendol Hux and Grand Admiral Sloane. This two year period is the only time during Armitage’s military career where he is free from the clutches of his abusers. He thrives under Sloane’s guidance, completing several military projects and his dissertation in record time.

KEY CHARACTERS AND IMPORTANT CONNECTIONS ― main verse
active characters
Phasma ― A bond of trust forged through clandestine conspiracy, Phasma and Hux have become and inseparable pair. Bound by the common goal of recreating themselves by rising above their oppressors, the young officer and stormtrooper entered into an assassination pact to systematically eliminate those standing in their way. The most notable of these hits being the scheme to murder Hux's abusive father, who initially recruited Phasma to the First Order. The assassination of a high ranking officer was a significant risk to undertake, legitimizing the circumstantial loyalty between the Captain and her new commanding officer. Beyond the binding influence of the pact, Phasma and Hux have a general understanding and acceptance of one another that has sparked something akin to friendship. Despite both party's unwillingness to acknowledge this tacit dynamic. Phasma does not truly pledge loyalty to anyone other than herself, but her commitment to Armitage Hux is the closest she will get to genuine fealty.
Kylo Ren ― Driven by opposing goals, a rivalry sparks between Snoke's favored apprentice & Grand Admiral Sloane's unspoken heir. Years of implicit animosity between their mentors gives way to a caustic battle for power that spans several years, bleeding into their forced collaboration as co-commanders of the Finalizer. Within the years following their mutual defeat on Starkiller Base, something shifts. Snoke's hold begins to slip, and with his death, the last remnants of his parasitic grasp begin to fade. Within this dead space of disquieting liberation, Hux proposes a tentative truce in the effort to move forward and collaborate toward their respective goals for the First Order. Thus begins a delicate partnership that slowly blossoms as the two self-proclaimed leaders set off to reconstruct the First Order into a operative military based governments. While Ren primarily devotes his efforts to the broadening military, Hux reinvents himself as a political figurehead —High Chancellor of a newly established Republic. As their Empire grows, the two leaders enter another contract for the benefit of expansion —A political marriage that will stabilize the connection between military and government and present a uniform front to the Galaxy. But perhaps Hux has ulterior motives for instigating this premediated union...
Dopheld Mitaka ― Perhaps Armitage's longest standing connection; Dopheld is the son of two if Armitage's step mother's close family friends. The pair were acquainted at infancy. Armitage's step mother declared the Mitaka her adopted son's godparents, unbeknownst to his father. Armitage lost connection with the Mitaka's when he was kidnapped from his step mother, by his father Brendol. He was reunited with the younger boy in the First Order Academy, years later upon the Star Destroyer Eclipse. Young Dopheld idolized Armitage throughout their academic years. His idolization was indirectly encourage by his father, Dr. Mitaka, an Engineering professor who took great interest as Armitage as a student. Upon, graduation, the two officers kept in touch, their paths crossing regularly until Dopheld ultimately was stationed under Armitage's command on the Finalizer. Hux promotions Mitaka to Colonel, then General as he begins his ascension from General to High Chancellor of the reimagined First Order. To this day they still have an unspoken familial bond; the stern and ambitious older brother to the loyal and reverent younger brother. That is, until Mitaka's ideals begin to shift...
Rownei Ren ― Acquainted during a mission to expose a traitorous affiliate, young Armitage Hux found an uncanny ally in the cynical knight, who managed to match him in wit. Their success prompted assigned collaboration on several other operations, designated by the Supreme Leader himself. Official cooperation slowly evolved into implicit camaraderie, a development Hux was eager to embrace in order to gain leverage over his rival, Kylo Ren. Yet with time, the pair became genuine friends; sharing information over drinks, confiding in each other through carefully coded small talk. Intentions of deception abandoned to a slowly arising sense of trust. A connection that deepened following Hux's tentative truce with Ren. After which, Rownei became something akin to Hux's ambassador —the bridge between the Chancellor's staff and Kylo's band of warriors. Their friendship aided Hux in navigating his tumultuous relationship with the Supreme Leader, narrowing the gap between Hux's inner circle and the knights as the First Order transitioned into a growing Empire.

Orson Krennic ― Empire Verse. Surprised that a cadet would apply to intern with the Weapons Development Department, Director Krennic soon finds himself mentoring a young, eager aspiring engineer. Upon discovering that the boy is the abused son of one of his least favorite colleagues, Krennic devotes time and resources to the cadet to spite his father ― a maneuver that unintentionally sparks a slowly growing familial bond between the student and teacher. As young Armitage grows under Orson wing, he becomes a valuable asset to the engineering department and the Director, as well. FYIs. ( not rules but, rather, useful information )
✦ I use small text, colored text, icons and formatting. I don’t care if my partners format or not. If you would like me to accommodate, please let me know. I very willing!
✦ I am mobile bound a majority of the time and even write frequently from mobile. Thus, if you do not have mobile friendly rules or pages it may take me up to two weeks to follow back. It generally takes me a few days to follow back, regardless.
✦ I set a mutuals limit for myself because I am extremely busy irl. If I hit my limit, I will not take any new mutuals, but I may follow back later if some of my current mutuals leave or go inactive. If I softblock but follow later, that is why.
✦ I don't practice mains or do mains calls. I'm very plot oriented so I prefer for these connections to happen organically. Instead, I have opted for using my connections page to list those that I have created ongoing plots or dynamics with.
✦ I have two Star Wars: episode 9 verses. My main verse is inspired by the unaired Duel of the Fates script, featuring Hux as Chancellor on Coruscant, whilst working with Ren to head the First Order’s ascendance over the Galaxy.
My alt-verse is a spin on The Rise of Skywalker, but with a plot for Hux that more accurately complies with his novel characterization. In this verse Hux is not the spy, but instead is trying to hold a coup and take back power from Ren. Mitaka is the spy, instead.
