Frostbite
A little gory/exaggerated but I actually like this a lot :D
I like the idea of the freeze being REALLY rough on the sole survivor, and there’s physical trauma involved that they have to deal with past the mental trauma of waking up 200 years in the future.
Damien gets pretty bad barotrauma from being frozen for 150 years, wakes up to see Shaun get taken, then freezes again pretty much immediately afterwards. It’s not like he could fully thaw in those 2 minutes it took Kellogg to open Nora’s door. So now Damien is deaf in his left ear, and he has trouble keeping his hands warm :)

The BG3 brainrot is real. I ended up rolling a dragonborn cleric and was fully intending to chase that bear ass but Gale charmed me by drunkenly ranting about how cool his cat is and telling me adrenaline from fighting makes him horny. Whoops!

helpful sites for writers
i have a little collection of websites i tend to use for coming up with ideas, naming people or places, keeping clear visuals or logistics, writing basics about places i've never been to, and so on. i tend to do a lot of research, but sometimes you just need quick references, right? so i thought i'd share some of them!
Behind the Name; good for name meanings but also just random name ideas, regardless of meanings.
Fantasy Name Generator; this link goes to the town name generator, which i use most, but there are lots of silly/fun/good inspo generators on there!
Age Calculator; for remembering how old characters are in Y month in Z year. i use this constantly.
Height Comparison; i love this for the height visuals; does character A come up to character B's shoulder? are they a head taller? what does that look like, height-wise? the chart feature is great!
Child Development Guide; what can a (neurotypical, average) 5-year-old do at that age? this is a super handy quickguide for that, with the obviously huge caveat that children develop at different paces and this is not comprehensive or accurate for every child ever. i like it as a starting point, though!
Weather Spark; good for average temperatures and weather checking!
Green's Dictionary of Slang; good for looking up "would x say this?" or "what does this phrase mean in this context?" i love the timeline because it shows when the phrase was historically in use. this is english only, though; i dig a little harder for resources like this in other languages.

I'm finally free from Johnny. At what cost? I'm here on a space pod on my way to Earth, back to Night City.
Free, but empty. All these memories in my head yet I don't feel anything. I'm desperate. Desperate to feel anything.
The moment the pod landed, I carried my legs to where my memory leads me. One place that could possibly let me feel something. I get a taxi and told them the address, they led me to a park full of trailers. I see a bunch of them hanging out with a can of beer, laughing, enjoying themselves.
I touched the window of the taxi. I want that. I want to feel that.
The taxi stopped me right in front of what the place I remembered. Or.. the old V remembered. I paid my fare and got our of the taxi. The people in the house looked at me quizzically and one of them got out of the house.
River. This is the man. He looked at me confused at first, but he chuckled and smiled at me so wide, I thought he was going to burst.
"V!"
Nothing. I feel nothing still. This was one place V would call home. And why don't I feel anything yet? He pulled me into a hug and I burst into tears.
"I tried searching for you. I can't believe you're finally here."
I mean so much to this person. Why can't I feel it?
So where is it? Where's my home?
