The basin is an ancient relic, beautified by both age and the Elunite engravings etched into its edges. A pre-Sundering work borne of the finest Kaldorei hands in sculpting, its purpose has withered in recent years. As each new day comes, however, Aeondra could finally see the truth in the statement, ‘Everything gets a return.’ A coolness permeates her pores, sinking into sinew and enveloping her entirety. A coolness that she welcomes.

Holding the basin close to her flank, she carries six filled canteens and a vial of moonwell water upon her belt-line as she exits from her shared apartment with Octavia. The intention was not to hide her process or her goal from her roommate, her coworker, but… none would take kindly to the barbarism that she would willingly indulge in.

Besides. This was to be a holy occasion.

Escorting her gathered reagents out into the Tiragarde wilderness, she hikes for well over an hour until she breaches the clearing she sought. Shal’tora lurks in the trees above, and comes lumbering down, as silent as a prowling shadow. Aeondra lowers to her knees, placing the basin on the ground as she directs the hippogryph towards herself. “Come. Place the sack on the ground. –And remember. Its contents are not food.” Shal’tora would frown powerfully if she could, but obeys nonetheless, fetching the hefty, damp sack from amongst her many saddlebags, and dropping it carefully next to the basin.

“Good. Keep watch. Goddess knows what stalks these woods, and I will not be merciful to whatever interrupts me. Ensure that it is not an innocent.” Shal’tora lifts her beak, and climbs back into the woodline.

Aeondra sets her attention back to her basin. Producing and uncapping each canteen, she pours the chilled water out, upending each until the basin was filled deep enough to immerse one’s forearms. Swirling the water with her right hand, the warden aspirant would then add about three droplets of her vial’s contents to the mixture. Sealing the vial again, both hands are introduced to the water, and she shuts her eyes. Celestial light pours from her hands, as the moon above breaks through the clouds, illuminating the clearing and sanctifying the waters.

“Elune, my Goddess. Forgive me my malice. Forgive me my hatred. All I have done, I have done in your name. I ask for your forgiveness this night, as I do every night. This night, my light, I bring gifts.”

Pulling her hands from the water, she reaches for the sack. Pulling it closer, her blessed hands tug it open, and her left hand dives within to grasp the first offering.

“In a cool world, Full of cruel things…”
