My Experiences

Didn’t get to formally introduce, but I am Danna and currently an G12 ABM student. ABM wasn’t really my first choice of strand, moreover I was really undecided when I was enrolling in a new school. The registrar from the school informed me that ABM was a flexible strand, so I decided to take it. 

For 2 years being a SHS student, I struggled a lot in accounting because it was really complicated. Tons of worksheets and there were terms as well which was very new to me. Although, I learned a lot in business management subjects which help me learned about handling a business. I get to use those learnings whenever my mom needs help with our family business and understanding how to budget money well.

This isn’t supposed to scare you, but this is is sign for you to think about it. Not only this applies to ABM but different strands so its really important to consider your interests.

“You need to be intelligent if you’re taking ABM”

ABM involves math problems and this becomes a fear to many, and if you’re intelligent enough you can survive the track. In my opinion, I disagree with this statement because you can take the strand if you are really interested with it or your future career is connected with the track. I don’t consider myself intelligent but I still took the strand because of my interest on the field.

All about ABM

ABM stands for Accountancy Business and Management

ABM is one of the academic tracks on senior high school that focuses on the field of businesses. Perfectly fit for those aspiring businessman/woman, accountants, managers and so on. 

According to Enderun,  the ABM strand in its most fundamental sense refers to the accountancy, business, and management academic programs that concentrate on the foundational concepts in corporate operations, financial management, business management, as well as each and every factor that revolves around those central fields.
