Beltane 2020 - Celebrations in Quarantine
Here are some things I’m planning/doing between April 30, 2020 and May 1, 2020, in case people are looking for ideas.
Food
Oatmeal
I only have instant, but any oat-based food has a strong association with this day.
Other options might include:
oatmeal bread/cookies
no-bake bars
or even meatloaf
Honey.
Honey and butter on fresh-baked bread or English muffins
Honey cakes (which, for me, means those packages of instant microwave mug cakes. I use the yellow/lemon kind, mix in a teaspoon and a half of honey before microwaving, and then eat with butter and honey drizzled over the top
Honey-Lavender coffee, delivered (special treat!) from a local coffee shop.
I forgot to buy any this year, but baklava, if you can find it, is delicious for Beltane. If your grocery store doesn’t have it, a local Mediterranean restaurant or Middle-Eastern/South Asian store probably will.
Hibiscus, rose, and/or fruity teas
Fruit smoothies
Magic
“Find My Soulmate” spell just after Midnight, as 4/30 transitions to 5/1.
Tarot and/or oracle card readings
Activities/Traditions
Make paper flowers
Maybe experiment with some watercolors
Write in my “Wheel of the Year” journal
Honey-Lavender sheet masks (I love seasonally-themed skincare)
Foot bath/soak with some essential oils and dried flowers
Jump over the “fire” (for me, a large, lit candle or two place on the floor)
Go for a walk outside
Leave out some milk, maybe contained in an egg shell, for the fae
Solo dance party!
Movies (because I’m lazy)
Moana
Tangled
Tuck Everlasting

Hello, little doe! Could you suggest me a few ways to celebrate Beltane, please? I'm a baby witch and I can't do anything spectacular, as I live with my family and they don't know I practice witchcraft. Thank you, sweet fairy!
Bonjour sweetheart!♡ Of course I can suggest a few things, dear! I’ve been in your place before so I most definitely understand your situation.
A list of things a closeted witch can do to celebrate Beltane:
♡ Make a flower crown out of dandelions (this is truly easy to do!)
♡ Listen to songs that remind you of faeries and bonfires, and even dance to it if you’d like
♡ Write down all of your thoughts and feeling during Beltane, maybe even write a poem that reminds you of Beltane
♡ light a candle (or use an electric one) and meditate
♡ spend time in nature, listen to the earth spirits
♡ make a miniature “maypole”
♡ Wear green, red, and white!
♡ set out an offering to the faeries, just make sure it’s not something unusual/in an obvious area
♡ pick lots of flowers and press them/put them in a vase
♡ wake up earlier than usual on may 1st and greet the morning dew and the singing birds
♡ make a mini shoe box Beltane altar, if you’d like
♡ laugh and enjoy yourself, for the celebration of Beltane should be something you personally enjoy, darling! Remember that you don’t have to have a big celebration to enjoy the sabbats!
I hope you have a beautiful Beltane and that your journey through witchcraft is pleasant and blissful, sweet rose! May your mind be at peace and filled with love! ✨✧*:・゚✧
