I have been posting just an absolute boatload of BG3 comics on my new account, so if you're still here and that's something you care about go follow that blog instead!
And then Gale showed me a magic trick and I went to bed.

Another reminder that I’ve moved blogs and will be posting all my art on the new A2ZIllustration page from now on! Currently queued up a metric ton of Baldur’s Gate 3 comic content-
I've moved!
To a new A2ZIllustration blog!
Like many artists, I made my art blog tied to a different main blog a decade ago and tumblr never let me update that. So, I've made a new main art blog! It's the same URL as this was previously, A2ZIllustration, so I hope you'll go give it a follow if you'd like to stay updated on my work. ((This was arguably a terrible time to do this because I have a couple posts making the rounds right now, but when is it ever the right time.))
Thank you again for your support, hope to see you there!

Not to get sappy but I had so much fun in my first year of art fight, it was a great way to keep me motivated to draw, everyone has such cool and wonderful characters, and I was absolutely delighted with the people who took the time to draw some of my own little guys. I hope I’m able to do it again next year bc I definitely still have a lot of bookmarks I didn’t get to.

* ~ July Baking ~ *
Mint Chocolate Cake - 4.5/5
I'm legitimately upset that this cake tastes good because it was such a massive pain to make.
The cake sunk in the middle while baking, I had to make multiple substitutions, my ganache fell apart TWICE (I'm blaming the chocolate, even Ghirardelli APPARENTLY couldn't save this), I had so many dishes to do after all this.
But it tastes, tragically, very good, and would probably be a nice thing to make around the holidays.
Notes (very important)
• Bake the cake for 25-30min in a 6" pan
• halve the recipe for that pan
• if you don't use mint you can use 1.5x the amount of peppermint extract
• using butter instead of shortening is fine
• DO NOT use all of the frosting it's too much (use 1/2-3/4 of it)
• DO buy very good baking chocolate for the stupid ganache even if it kills you to pay for it
• DO use coffee instead of hot water for the cake, it's fine
• the substitute for whole milk is a 1:1 ratio of heavy cream to water
• DO NOT add the salt into the ganache if the chocolate is dark enough
• DO make the ganache a traditional way, heating the cream first, then pouring it in a bowl and adding all the chocolate at once
• IF you have the same problem I do, here is the trick I used to fix the ganache

on a serious note regarding the wga strike and (as of 1:50 AM PST 7/13) upcoming sag-aftra strike, dsa-la has a fundraiser called The Snacklist which provides snacks and water on the picket lines here in LA. right now the funds they have will not last through the end of the summer, especially given the current and upcoming heatwaves necessitating more supplies. if you have a couple of dollars to spare it's a great way to directly support the writers (and potentially the actors) during this difficult time!
