There's a particular time of year that the y10s get given a baby doll yo look after that cries and stuff for their BTEC Health and Social care if they choose it, and it's bizarre for 3 reasons. Obviously you don't expect a 14 year old to walk the corridors with a robot baby, but also I once walked into the h+s classroom bc it's one of the only rooms with computers near me and there were 8 babies plugged into the wall by their buts bc they need charging.
So not just US, just very niche in the UK.
okay americans i gotta ask because as an European i grew up with lots of american shows and cartoons and in a lot of them there was an episode where they give the protags a doll or an egg or a bag of flour or whatever and told them pretend to be its parents or something
