Even if the theme of their conversation was around a horrid, infact, the most horrid subject, a resting smile curved Angel's lips, lighting up her face somewhat as she listened to the Captain's words. Admittedly, the innocent nurse had never thought about the strange possibility that anyone could ever enjoy murder, besides the titans that is. Even if her subconscious mind knew their was infact many people who sought it out as a sick hobby.

But, in her eyes, Levi was not one of them.

The impression was probably implied by his bitter attitude towards others and the abnormalities that slaughtered their kind. And that wasn't even mentioning the intimidating but impressive ease with which he ended them for humanities safety.

Deciding to add onto his points with her own medical one, Angel gestured to his hands with her left as an example. Like many other hard working soldiers, barely fading scars and inflections defined his palms from intense use of his (unique) sword.

"And more often then not, someone else suffers."

Even if her apperance suggested focus to be on his physical well-being, the blonde's mind was again pondering how much mental strain could possibly weighing on his mind at one time.

A hum of sorrow agreement he might not have heard from the distance between them, Angel hesitantly turned around to look at him, not just gaze over her shoulder distractedly. Both of her blue eyes came to stare over at the grave expression on Eren's face.

"I would personally rather no casualties and no blood in this room, but we all sadly know that is currently not an option..."

Of course, as she was the most senior medic in the corps, Angel had seen the worst of some injuries, having to command through them, ignoring how the exposure burned away her dwindling innocence bit by bit.

"While I have you here, Eren. Are you feeling alright?"

Unpleasantly, blood was smeared on nearly every inch of Angel's uniform, if it wasn't for the gloves she wore, her hands would also be a grim colour of crimson, mess and dirt clogged in her short nails. "You don't have to do that...." Even if it seemed the nurse was refusing the help, it would be very much appreciated. Any other day, the space would be clean by now, empty of bloody cloths, gauzes and bandages. In honesty, the mess had simply taught Angel that the team could not be left alone for any more than an hour after a mission, unable to handle the strain without suitable leadership. "It's not a pretty sight..."

"Not a pretty sight? I think I've seen plenty of that." It wasn't just titans eating people. He had seen limbs severed in the moment and the result of it. Hell, it had happened to him more than once. Blood? He had so much of it that sometimes he forgot it wasn't normal to see that much blood in one's entire lifetime.

Was it the difference in their work? The way she viewed it as not pretty - it occurred to him that he was never really thinking about it as grotesque or anything. It was just an expected result of his line of work. If anything, it sent off danger alarms, but part of him had forgotten that blood being everywhere could be seen as "gross" or "unpleasant". It was something he saw so often that it was becoming as normal as seeing people themselves. That was to say, that only applied to the blood itself. The hard part for him was seeing the wounded soldiers, rather than just the blood by itself.

"Everyone was in a rush today trying to get soldiers in and out. I'm not surprised it looks like this. But... I'd rather see all this blood than bodies. Blood gets back into your system. Lost limbs can at least be accommodated for. There's no replacement for a lifeless body. Once they're gone, they're gone..."

So much emotion split across the nurse's face as her eyes met Hange's, the brown significantly wider than her blue's weary droop. Eventually, happiness seemed to win over as a weak smile graced at her lips, only parting to whisper.

"Hange...."

Joyful recognition painted on all her pale features even as the realisation of her stupidity seemed to dawn on the scientist's face, along with how much it had cost her small body. The blood flowed steadily from her wounds as she lay statue still, not daring to send another strike of pain through her.

A somewhat distressed laugh followed Hange's haste to offer support to her friend's currently unfixable inflictions. Subconsciously, both seemed to know being hurled into a tree by a titan was not going to do any favours for Angel.

"I'm not sure there is much you can do... and I think you know that..."

"Who is that?!" Hanji ordered, seeing a soldier ride off to the forest, the complete wrong direction, a titan following them. What had happened to force this decision? Was it a new recruit completely disorientated with fear? It didn't matter who it was, or why they had done it. Hanji couldn't live with herself without checking on them.

"Rashad, you're in charge, keep with the plan. I'll meet back up with you" she ordered and clicked her tongue, kicked her horse and turned off in that direction, hoping that the person had at least formed some kind of plan. It didn't take too long before she could follow the titan's footprints.

"Oh no you don't!" She called, already up in the air, lunging straight at the titan, she whipped around and cut at the nape, the titan falling instantly. Good. "Hey!" The squad leader called, looking around until she saw it, the blood on the tree, following it into the undergrowth of grass, "... Angel?" she gasped, kneeling beside her, a hand to her cheek.

"What were you thinking?" Hanji whispered, looking her over. It didn't look good for her and she changed tact. The medic didn't need scolding right now, not when there wasn't anything Hanji could do for the amount of broken bones in front of her. "You lured it away? You saved them all" she spoke, looking into her eyes, "I don't know how to help you" Hanji shook her head, she looked up and whistled for the horses, maybe there was something in the medic's pack to help. "Tell me what to do".
