Just bought this from Amazon to pacify my Nintendo Switch hunger. It’s not the same, but it looks like the best controller so far for the iPhone. It’s the exact format that I want too. I’m pretty excited to play some Bully, FFVII, Binding of Isaac, and more with this.
I’ll let you know how it is after I get it.

Am I the only one that hates concepts like these? People can make whatever random concept they want and then people start believing that it’s real and hold Apple to these unrealistic expectations.
“Take a look at our new concept. Push a button and the iPhone turns in to a drone and flys around and takes photos of you while you walk!”
“Hey, Apple didn’t make the drone phone...they aren’t innovating anymore.”
It’s so annoying! This may be my inner Apple Retail employee coming out because we used to get people coming in saying, “Dude, did you see that the new iPhone is going to have a projector that displays a keyboard on an surface so you can type anywhere?!”
It’s so annoying. Stop with the concepts and just let Apple release a damn product!

Another reason why I like iOS more than Android. Google often launches new apps on iOS before Android. If I was an android user I would be a little upset. I like the idea of this app. I can't wait to try it out.

Apple plans to introduce some App Store changes in iOS 10.3, allowing developers to respond to customer reviews for the first time. iOS users are also able to label reviews in the App Store as "Helpful" or "Not Helpful," which should help surface the most relevant review content.
Allowing devs to be able to respond to people in reviews is a big request that is finally getting answered. I’ll look at app reviews and you can clearly see when someone is using an app wrong and there’s nothing the dev can do to help them there. So the bad review, which shouldn’t be a bad review, stays there and  festers. Luckily, that will change now. Devs can finally help people personally in the app reviews which will now hold users more accountable for how they are using the apps.

Thinking about the rumors of a $1,000 iPhone 8. Based on rumors, it could have some killer features.

“Imagination Technologies today unveiled its next-gen PowerVR Furian architecture, its upcoming next-gen GPU design that could give clues to enhancements ready for future iPhones. Most notably, the company says Furian enables enhanced power efficiency for mobile devices that will pave the way for high-resolution, immersive graphics content including AR and VR applications. In other words, the GPU could help upcoming iPhones achieve higher (4K?) resolutions with big computing and gaming performance improvements”
This would be awesome for future phones. With the speed of mobile GPU’s and chip development I can see Apple continue testing their own chipsets for computers.
The latest iPad Pros are ridiculously fast and can even feel faster than many computers.
I can’t wait to see what develops in the latest iPhones as far as graphics are concerned. With more power comes more opportunity for amazing augmented reality, which will be much bigger than VR IMO.

Macotakara says that the so-called “iPhone Edition” will be announced in September, as has been the case for all of the recent iPhone announcements. The iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus are also expected at that event. The iPhone Edition, however, “may be very much behind” the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus in terms of actual release, something that was reported last week, as well.
Don’t take too much stock in this. It’s still VERY early on in the rumor cycle.
Every single year there are rumors that say Apple has “delayed” the iPhone and it will be released later. It never is.
I like how Renee Ritchie says it, “The unreleased, unannounced, nonexistent, iPhone 8 has been delayed.”
It’s possible the iPhone 8 could release later, but don’t place too much stock in this rumor yet. Still way too early.

I absolutely love this site. They consistently have the best app reviews and find the best apps.
I disagree just a little with this pick for best photo editing app though. I love Darkroom, but without RAW support I don’t see how it can be the best.
I still think the best are Snapseed and VSCO. Both have RAW support and Snapseed probably has the best RAW support and best mobile editing. But Snapseed has horrible filters if you want filters. VSCO shines in that area for sure.
Definitely give this a read because they mention a lot of good apps and if Darkroom adds RAW support then it could be the best for sure.

But this inconsistency is a reminder that you can’t really rely on Siri, since its behavior and effectiveness often seems to change from day to day.
I really hate when people project their experiences on the masses. Just because he had a failure that eventually worked does not mean that all of a sudden no one can use Siri on a daily basis.
I use Siri every day for many different uses. I can yell to my phone from across the room with a movie on the TV and my son playing with loud toys and it works fine.
Every assistant will have errors, it’s just become more fun for people to crap on Siri. The main reason is because the other virtual assistants aren’t as ubiquitous. Siri was first. Not the first voice control. The iPhone had voice control. But it was the first popular voice assistant that wasn’t just a generic voice control system. Because of that, it became the face of voice control.
I’m tired of these Siri jokes. It’s sort of like Trump jokes, I’ve heard all of them so many times that they just aren’t funny anymore regardless of whether you hate or love Trump. I’ve heard every Siri joke so many times that it just isn’t funny anymore.
At the Apple Store I used to train people on how to use their iPhones and I could get almost anyone to use Siri effectively. It’s not that hard.
This article by Jason Snell, whom I love, just shows the big problem with the tech industry and their writers, they project their own specific problems to millions of people. It doesn’t make any sense. Because Jason Snell had a problem with Siri now means that I can’t use it on a daily basis? Doesn’t make any sense.

Furthermore, unlike the transition from 30-pin to Lightning in 2012, Apple now has a richer, more lucrative ecosystem of accessories and devices based on Lightning, from AirPods and Apple Pencil to keyboards, mice, EarPods, game controllers, Siri remotes, and more. Moving away from Lightning means transitioning several product lines to a standard that Apple doesn't own. It means additional inconsistency across the board.
I completely agree with Frederico on this. I can see Apple moving to USB-C in the future, but it will have to be a slow transition. It won’t be this generation. It might be next year, but it won’t start now and it won’t start with the iPhone.
They will start it in the iPad and maybe bring it to the iPhone, but I still don’t think they will.
We will have to see as time goes on.

I absolutely love this game. It takes time and learning, but once you really get in to it it’s absolutely addicting.
I’m a huge fan of pixel art type games and this is a great one. You need to check it out for sure and read John’s review as well. Very good.

We seem to know a lot about the iPhone 8
Today 9to5Mac posted another rumor about the iPhone 8 from Nikkei Asian Review that pretty much confirms all the other rumors.
So here’s what we know based on all the rumors so far: the iPhone 8 will have a 5.8 OLED screen that will be virtually edge to edge with no home button. In size, it will be about the size of the 4.7 inch iPhone 7.
We still don’t know if it will have the lightning port or a USB-C port. WSJ reports that it will be charged via USB-C and Mac Otakara claims it will be lightning with a USB-C adapter for Europe.
We also don’t know just exactly how large the functioning size of the screen will be. 9to5Mac explains:
A recent investor note from KGI stated that while the iPhone 8 will feature a 5.8-inch display, there will be “function area” at the bottom, which would make for a roughly 5.15-inches of usable screen pace. For this reason, it’s unclear how Apple will market the iPhone 8 in terms of screen size.
It’s pretty crazy to have such a high flurry of rumors for a device that won’t be out until September. It’s an interesting theory that Apple might be allowing these leaks to start the hype for the iPhone 8 early. We will never know for sure. But it seems likely and it works.

This would be really interesting. I have no idea what this would be, but Apple needs better video content than what they will be offering so far. I like that they started producing music videos, but Planet of the Apps doesn’t look super interesting.
I can’t wait to see how this develops.

I took this photo using the Hydra app. It takes about 30-40 photos at a time and combines them for a 36 megapixel photo. When there's people there it creates a really great slow shutter speed effect! #disney #hydraapp #iphoneography

Expect these phones to look similar. Samsung is going to do their best to make a phone that will be very similar to the rumors of the iPhone 8. That doesn’t mean they are doing it on purpose or even doing in with the intent to copy the iPhone, but rather they are trying to jump the gun on the next wave of design language for phones.
They won’t have an imbedded fingerprint reader, no 3D sensing camera for AR, and there will be other features it won’t have that the iPhone 8 will likely have. But it’s always great to have competition and good competition at that. I’ll be interested to see what this will look like and what it’s major features will be.

This is a great comparison between the two phones. The P10 attempts the same Portrait mode that the iPhone 7 Plus does and in some respects doesn’t succeed and on others, does.
One of the problems with the Portrait mode on the iPhone is indoors. I’ve always had problems with it searching too much for focus without adequate lighting. That seems to be the one advantage to the P10. It shines in low light.
This is all moot for Americans anyway seeing as the P10 won’t be coming to the States. Huawei sits behind Apple and Samsung worldwide for marketshare, but in the US doesn’t even break the top 5. This is a shame seeing as they seem to make great phones, even though they are trying to clone the shape of the iPhone. Maybe they will bring the P10 to the US in the future if it’s successful enough over seas.

This seems like a normal rumor to me. I can see the front facing camera allowing for all sorts of new things. Developers would be able to tap in to the 3D sensing ability for fun filters like Snapchat. It’s amazing what devs can do with just a normal camera on the front.
