I think my favorite thing about how Ed and Stede meet each other is how it's almost an instant sort of recognition. Something about the way they fit together so, so easily, right from the first. It's a sort of recognition of a kindred spirit, in finding someone who you can instantly talk and sympathize and get excited with.

It's like you can feel them thinking that their lives have just fundamentally changed. A sort of oh, it's you, hi, I didn't know I missed you. From the beginning it's impossible to imagine their lives without the other in it anymore. There's something so sweet and almost tentative with their interactions after Stede wakes up in s1e4, but there's such a comfort there already. They're soulmates your honor.
