The coldest take amid this ao3 drama is that "ao3 doesn't deserve donations because it has pedophilia and incest"

Have you ever considered the fact that if people weren't able to use those content warnings they would just post the work anyway except it would be untagged and you would have no way of filtering it out of your searches. Those tags exist to protect you from being exposed to content you don't want to be exposed to

Also keep in mind that most published BOOKS don't have those kind of content warning labels. At most, they'll be labeled "18+" "explicit" or "mature" without any indication as to what the actual content is.

Ao3 is doing YOU a favor by allowing authors to tag their works with those content warnings because otherwise they would be untagged and therefore unfilterable.

1. Child support starts at the same point, including 50% of all medical bills

2. If the mother dies in mandated childbirth OR the child is stillborn, the father and doctor are charged with involuntary manslaughter.

My latest comic for The Nib was written by my friend Mike Thompson- it’s his first published comics work! 

The Nib has been a steady source of income and a huge support to me and many other indie cartoonists for years. They publish amazing work, but will be cut loose by their financial backer in July. You can read the official post about it from editor Matt Bors here.  They are still running their kickstarter-funded print magazine, but have to put digital publishing on hiatus until they figure out their next steps.
