Projects for Social Change

INTRODUCTION:

 Greetings! We are a group of learners from Concordia College comprising of four members that have one aim: We aim to educate and communicate. We aim to educate people of how social change is a social trend in our modern day technological world. And alongside educating, we aim to communicate. Some are victims of the dark side of social change, they are bullied and flamed through social media and etcetera. We aim to communicate with them and make them feel that they are not alone. That there are others who are more than willing to lend a hand and reach out for them. But we also need your help. Help us help them and spread the word. We are calling you to reach out to the vulnerable ones in the internet.

PURPOSE:

 You may ask yourself, why should you help us or invest your assets and time for us? Why are we deserving to catch your attention and be notably useful? The answer would be in your hands, ma'am and sir. Almost everybody is prone to cyberbullying and cyberflaming and that could mean that your children, niece, nephew, cousin, sibling, friend or yourself could become a potential victim of it. And given this situation, we ought to help people with the resources and time we have without second thoughts and inhibitions. We aim to help and your help could be a great contribution. A little of your help will go a long way and will save a life too.

DESCRIPTION:

Our project aims to be a bridge for those who are victims of online harassment, in order for them to receive the support and the help that they need. Cyber bullying is present within our views and reach, lurking in the corners of the screen of your device. With anyone as a potential victim, we desire to protect and reach out to those who need us, through the help of this website. We will provide a direct line to suicide hotline that could be used anonymously and you can send and report your issues about cyberbullying wether if you are a victim or if you are just wanting to help; you can send screen shots and your statements publicly (anonymously or not) or privately through our direct message option; these reports and concerns will be closely reviewed and if it is truly a matter of concern, we will find a way to involve the authorities. Our goal is to educate and spread awareness about this matter to prevent and stop this from continuing, to help millions of people who suffer and to save millions of lives with just one click.

SUPPORT:

We are in need of sufficient but minimal funds in order to maintain our online support group and collect more funds in order to reach our hands to those in need physically someday. Of course, this may require funds but would be worthy because of the help that would reach people. But more than finances, we need you to spread the word about our plan. We need you to share this to as many as you can so we and also you, can save a life. We require minimum help from you. A couple of bucks and minutes could save a hopeless and helpless person on the internet.

CONCEPT PAPER INTRODUCTION There are approximately 75% of adolescents and teens have been bullied repeatedly online and they were also receiving threats online that leads them to death. Aside from receiving threats there are also different forms of cyber bullying such as ransomware and etc. Each individuals must be respected as person and not as a idiot. From the recent years the cases of cyber bullying is less than 75% but as the technology increases the cases in cyber bullying also increases. We “The cyber protectors” aims to spread the awareness against the said society problem to prevent it from increasing also to lessen the victims of cyber bullying and also we wanted to conclude something important to our beloved society. PURPOSE This project will be a great help in our society because it will lessen the cases of cyber bullying. We were also able to protect and help the victims and it will be also prevented because we believe that there are people who are whole heartedly supporting the awareness. The purpose of this project is to spread the positivity rather than negativity and it is worth our time and effort because we work whole heartedly and passionately to spread the awareness to every each of us. DESCRIPTION In order for us to achieve our goal we aim to create a poster/inforgraph to post for the spreading of awareness especially in schools. We will also be creating a blog and website that contains the cause and effect of cyber bullying and we will include pictures and other necessary informations to raise the awareness. SUPPORT We might spend a small amount of money to print out the hard copy of the poster/infograph that we will be posting everywhere. But overall we don’t need a big amount of money to spread the awareness because we spread it by heart and mind. Facebook, the social media site that I will use, will consist of posts where in I will spread awareness about the issue that our community is currently facing and struggling with, which is litter. I will enumerate the dangerous effects that litter can bring, not only to our environment, but also our health. I will educate my fellow “kabarangays” on how they could help prevent litter and how they can maintain beauty and cleanliness within our location. I will post pictures of the streets, sidewalks and alley ways that are full of litter in order to enlighten them and make them realize that we need to take action immediately. I will create events such as clean up parties in facebook where I could invite the citizens so that they can all help and promote cleanliness and safety for our health. The page will also be open to receive comments and suggestions on each post and the direct messages as well. Lastly, I will document the improvements and the results of the said projects, as well as recognitions to all of those who participated.

I chose Facebook as the website for my project because almost everyone can easily access this website and almost everyone has an account. Facebook can also be accessed using cellphones and tablets, because of that; it will not be a struggle for us to invite the members of the said community and it will not be difficult for them to receive the information. There are also different features that facebook has that can be advantageous such as the “like, comment and share” feature whereas people can react to the post, interact with us and other users, share their opinions and suggestions, and spread the news about the project We can also create and schedule events that has a poll that shows who are coming and the ones who are thinking about it and the ones who are not. We can also post whatever we want and whenever we want, it could be a video, photo or status, and in addition to that, we can even create photo albums. Lastly people can contact us very easily with the help of the private message.

LCC’S FIRST EVER FILM FESTIVAL

Films or also referred to as movies. These are pictures in motion that creates scenes that make up a story or several ones. Usually, a movie is fictional but sometimes it could be based on a true story. Some may say that films are a waste of time, but some perceive it as a form of art. An art of creating or recreating a story by creating an illusion and making it seem as if it is happening right before us, as if we were witnessing it happen.

 Concordia College is creating their first ever film festival. It will be happening this August of 2017, in consonance with the upcoming “Buwan ng Wika”, wuth the theme “Wikang Mapagbago”. The film festival is a competition between grade 11 HUMSS/GAS, 11 STEM/ABM, 12 HUMSS/GAS and 12 STEM/ABM. The mentioned grade levels/section will be making their own films that would be 10-20 minutes long and that would be watched by the whole elementary and junior high school. In an addition to that, they will also be the ones who will judge and rank each grade level competing.

 These said films will be an outlet of education and enlightenment about the ever changing “Wikang Filipino”. This competition will also enable the students of Concordia College to show their talents, skills, and creativity with the help of this challenge.
