Gotta agree on that, I love how it was so focused on friendship (even more so than animes like Fairy Tail that supposedly are about friendship but kinda get lost in romance) and it *is* very refreshing compared to Western shows (not including your mentioned examples) but it was indeed kinda weird how obsessive (and at some point even kinda toxic) they made Naruto and Sasuke's friendship😅 Esp. with the kinds retconning they did later where Shikamaru (and Choji) actually seemed to have been the first same-aged people to accept Naruto, not Sasuke😅 Tho Sasuke at least still had the "most relatable cause he doesn't have a family either" things going 🤔😅🙈
