#i wasn't taking notes per se in this readthrough but i was like. /making note/ of all the things that mo and fenoglio #said were in the in-book inkheart novel #and first of all what the fuck even went on in that book fr #how is capricorn the main character but we know all about these side characters he would absolutely have never have paid attention to #or all the places mentioned?? why would capricorn go to the castle of salt wtf #why does capricorn's book describe dustfinger and roxane meeting for the first time lmao #but second of all mo says the book mentions brianna only briefly and says her name once so unfortunately #i headcanon that's because either 1) when the fire raisers are trying to torture (?) info out of dustfinger in the scene mo reads them out #he begs them not to kill him for bri's and rosie's sakes #or 2) when he dies at the end his last thoughts are either apologies to them or grief at never seeing them again #all of which are Bad #the second would kinda work better bc fenoglio won't fking shut up about how dramatic and touching dustfinger's death scene is #and fenoglio doesn't like animals but he DOES have kids so i would imagine he'd write a better death involving children #than one simply being sad over a wild ferret yk #inkheart #says kenna
