OKAY RESEARCH RESULTS TIME

So yesterday I wondered if I was tripping or if Jesse’s image on the floriography cards had something on his arm, and since I couldn’t settle down with that thought, I did what any normal person would do and go super-impose rune images from the wiki one by one into the image til one matched. I was being obsessive about it, I wasn’t actually expecting something to match so now I’m screaming.

Now, the True North rune.

I was coloring them green for clarity to superimpose. Look at the skin left exposed from the sleeve, look at the rune.

I don’t have the attention span to know these things by heart so I had to look up what this thing does. It’s the tracking rune from City of Glass.

The Tracking (“True North”) rune

is used to track individuals whose whereabouts are unknown. The bearer must have an object that belonged to the person they want to track, which is held when the rune is drawn onto the back of the tracker’s hand.

There doesn’t seem to be that much about it, but City of Glass was on 2009 and there’s this from 2015. The wiki page links to this tweet.

I thought it might just be symbolism on the card but IT’S A WHAT NOW?
