a small thinkle-dinkle

I imagine Dark, if given the choice, would actually choose to be called “Mark” Dark is his own being away from Mark, he exists in his own right and has his own sense of self his own existence his own body but he admires what Mark has accomplished! Mark has said as much which is something I find interesting, rather than being something that possesses Mark he is actually separate from Mark!

He admires Mark’s accomplishments, so much so that the human suit he pilots is made in Mark’s image- almost identically! Heck he Can look exactly identical to Mark and even act very alike to Mark. I think appearing so human is exhausting for him but he Can do it. He appreciates what Mark has- I almost want to say respects it but I feel that’s not quite the case? He does want it for himself though that’s for sure thus appearing in Marks image, thus trying to take the achievements for himself, thus a name that sounds So Alike to Mark’s name, thus actually Wanting Mark’s name

so anyway this was just a long way of me saying I imagine Dark would actually love to be called Mark but people don’t call him that for many reasons so he does settle for Dark bc that’s what he’s known as and is what ppl are willing to call him (and also it rhymes, bonus!)

Also wanting to be called Mark makes it feel more natural for him to act as Mark, makes it easier and natural for him to introduce himself as Mark or Markiplier, there’s no hesitance in giving a different name than what he’s used to
