i'm such a damn perfectionist. like it was so much worse before i was cleaning my lineart so hard until i didn't see a single pixel stand out wrong. until it was the cleanest lineart to ever exist. i'm a perfectionist in many areas even when it comes to making a fucking meme. i will tweak that shit until i don't see the weird wiggle that lasts for a millisecond and bc of that i would not finish the work or finish it too late when the train left and there's not much activity anymore.
but a while ago i saw a qrt of a post with the good ol' "sketch vs lineart" that said that you don't need to do lineart. that you can just clean up the sketch and i dunno it sort of blew my mind a bit like yeah i've seen people not do lineart but there's not that much of them or their art looks too professional anyway so ofc the sketch would look good it's like those 'rkgk's that look goddamn amazing but when it was spoken outloud. that 'hey man you're not obligated to.'
idk it just did something i'm not sure where that perfectionism came from maybe it's because of the collective expectations that have risen up. because so many people want their work to be perfect and to hear from a fellow artist that you don't have to bend over backwards for just 1 work was kind of liberating. art just feels exhausting when you try to make it the best thing anyone's ever seen
and also that picture 'i want more original content made by people who don't draw by try anyway and i'm NOT KIDDING' it just dawned on me that so many visions could actually go unfinished or even not started at all because of the strive for perfection 'man i got an idea. too bad i suck too much to execute it' and so i just go like this
Tumblr media
sharing the vision is more important
