i have promised myself that if i use my current, perfectly lovely oil pastels with discipline and consistency then i'm allowed to shill out for the Fancy Ones which i have coveted since bloody 2016 when i discovered they existed. unfortunately! i have made myself unwilling to use my normal pastels due to knowing whatever i do could be *better* in 5 weeks time but whatever i do in 5 weeks time won't be nearly as good if i don't start using the normal pastels right now. anyway. sisyphus and his boulder are looking chipper as anything on the other hill over there.

#me meta #PETTIEST PROBLEMS KNOWN TO MAN. anyway im a priss about art materials whats new #i. look. i basically lived with oil pastels under my nails for 2 years as a teen #whilst i think this gives me SO much more credence than it does (it gives me nearly nothing) i also think i am right. and im fuckin stubbor #but no for real for real i have legitimate reasons. my sketchbook paper is all purpose cartridge 140gsm. #and its wayyy too porous and light to actually blend the fuckers. they absorb into the page like there's a fuckin drought. #there's no delicacy afforded on this paper bc it's so thirsty... there's no such thing as layering here. its disgustange #i have some black card that im currently enchanted with which is 220gsm and is just. chefkiss. so fun for this. it's like oil paint. #im terrified on linsead n turpentine shhh. but. god they sit still and wait for me to return with the blendy colour. god its wonderful. #unfortunately the black means the colours are out of whack. and that's all fine until i need a bloody dark brown. #SORRY i dont have people to chat at about this bc its rude to chat AT people so. here will do. anyway im such a bitch about my oil pastels #with no basis mind you. but i am a bitch about them nonetheless.
