still genuinely think that shadowheart and gale (in that order) have the best parallels to the durge storyline. imo actually really sad we don't get, like, any durge specific dialogues for them because their parallels are so obvious and interesting

#the order of companions with the most to least durge parallels is shadowheart gale lae'zel and THEN astarion btw #wyll and karlach are a whole different ballgame i think they'd have great durge specific stuff but not with parallels as obvious #am I biased because my top three also happen to be my main squad? perhaps. but also I think I'm for real right #this is specifically because I finished shadowheart's companion quest and her stuff about her memories #the things she did at the cloister #that really struck close to the durge experience and i don't think there were any durge specific dialogue lines for that convo #at least I don't THINK. none stood out as durge specific #which is a shame! there are SO many interesting parallels happening there #rosie plays video games poorly #squad without the s #also just thinking again about when gale tells you about the orb #and he calls himself a 'menace' and 'a threat to the camp' and then asserts that he will 'resist it' for as long as he can #like that's a whole MEAL of thematic resonance that the game does not fuck with but ma'am I would like to sit down and enjoy it
