Hey, it's Sie
Introduction
Hi everyone! I'm new to this so I would like introduce myself first before anything else. I would like you guys to know me just as much as I want to know you. So I will start with the basic infos. I am Elsie Bariuan but I prefer my friends to call me Sie. Why? I don't know. I just hate it when they call me with my whole name. I'm 17 years of age and currently studying as Grade 12 student at Saint Paul University Philippines. I enjoy watching movies specially kdramas. Even if I'm busy doing school requirements, I always see to it that I will have time watching my kdramas because I only watch them with the span of 2 days anyway. In fact, I have 25 kdramas waiting on my hard drive, but as for now, I'm currently watching The Ghostess. But don't get me wrong, I'm not setting aside my school requirements and responsibilities. The truth is, I make it as my inspiration. After I'm done with what I'm doing, that's when I will watch. I love to eat different varieties of food depending on my mood. I love listening to up-beat musics. I enjoy reading english stories in Wattpad, I'm a fan of this app since junior high. I love to take pictures of my cousins just as much as I love them. And when I graduate, I wanna go travel the world especially go to Korea and visit different tourist spots. I just love Korea, maybe it was because I'm addicted to some Korean groups and kdrama that led me in wanting to visit it.
My future plans? I have many plans. But for now, I'm just going with the flow. For example, engage marriage when I am 25, or maybe after I graduate from medicine, but for now, I will enjoy what I am and what I have right now. My goal is to be a doctor. Why? I don't know. Maybe because I want to cure and help sick people. But I'm not sure of my specialty yet, I'm still thinking of a specialty that really suits my capabilities. I will take Medical Technology as my pre-med course. Others say, premed is really a difficult course and I want to challenge myself by taking up this course. I know this will help me widen my knowledge and will enhance my skills. As for now, being in stem strand student helps distribute a lot to what course will I take in the future. Though it needs more efforts, I still do believe that I can surpass the challenge of being in this strand. During my grade 11, I'm planning not to continue taking up stem strand anymore, but then I was thinking about my future career so I decided to continue my path in the said strand. Considering that all subjects are stressors for me, still, I want to motivate myself to take this thing seriously. Ofcourse, as a good student it feels better to graduate with honor and to obtain high grades with my own hardships.
Here are some guide questions that I need to answer for you to be able to know more about me:
1. Where do I see myself 10 years from now? Was my learning in SPUP vital to where I'm leading to?
Ten years from now, I see myself as a successful doctor. Because of striving hard on college and even in high school and senior high, I know all of it will be worth it and I will be able to reach my goal to be a successful doctor. After I graduate on medicine, I will apply for a hospital wherein I will be able to show my abilities, strengths and capabilities in handling my chosen profession. Until then, I will be very busy taking care of my patients, not only by curing their illnesses but also to consider them a family. I believe that my learning in SPUP is important to where I'm leading to. Why? Because SPUP is the one of the institution who taught me different things not only about the lessons in each subject I take but also lessons in life. In my one year of study here in SPUP, I have already learned many things. One of which is to focus on what you really want to do. Take important things seriously, don't focus your attention to something that isn't important and never do things that will only make you doubt your goals. Another is to learn to do things on your own, you're not a kid anymore, you must learn how to be independent at all times. Its your life battle anyway, all you need is just someone who will guide you, support you, your source of strenght, and someone who will encourage you to keep moving forward. But don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that you will use someone just for you to have someone by your side, also you also need to return that favor to have a good relationship with that person. That's some of my learnings from my study here in this school. I know that as time goes by, I will surely be able to learn more things that will help me be ready to take my battle in life. 2. Was STEM a best choice of all?
For me, my chosen strand STEM is a best choice. Not only because it is where my chosen course falls into but also because it is where my chosen profession depends on. Subjects in STEM will help me prepare for my college course. For example, this shs, we will only focus on basics, and in college, will continue it but to higher level. Simply say, one of the courses in this strand is my preparatory course for medicine. 3. What course will you take in college and why?
In college, I will take BS Medical Technology course that serves as my premed course for medicine. I want to become a medical technologists because I want to play a crucial role in sustaining health. I want to challenge myself by taking up this course. Actually, it was a hard decision. I suddenly thought that I want to become a doctor and I heard that the program is one of the best premed course there is. In taking up Medical Technology course, passion, dedication and courage are necessary if you are taking a plunge in this course.I believe that I am qualified because I know that I have such abilities especially in caring for the well-being of others. The skills can easily be acquired if you work hard and work smart. There is no room for carelessness. You always have to be cautious and attentive. Learn to communicate well with people because you always have to interact with different kinds of patient and other health workers with different attitudes. Patience and understanding are needed to survive. Ofcourse it is considered that one should really have the passion in what we actually do. Some people say it is very stress-inducing, mind-draining, and physically and emotionally exhausting but if you really love what you do, it is very fulfilling and rewarding as you make your way to graduation and through the board exam. It demands a great amount of time and sacrifice yet it will be all worth it when you reach your goal. Dedication and patience are a must. Strong will and a great deal of fighting-spirit will help you get through the course. So as for me, I will not give up easily and soon, I will definitely reap the fruit of my labor 4. What topic would you like to learn more in this subject?
I would like to learn more about different softwares that are helpful to students like me. If possible ofcourse. Also, I would like to learn how to hack (in a good way) 5. How would you describe color yellow to a blind person?
