a weird thing that makes me very emotional is how there will be parts of my life that for whatever cultural reason seem like a universal experience to me, yet aren't to you guys. the childhood stories i grew up with, the songs that get played to specific events, the traditions that come and pass regularly. all the things that shape life and make us feel connected, yet so many of you don't know. idk it's beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time, how you don't have this valuable thing in your life yet have so many other things, that i don't even know about

#we are so diverse as humans it's amazing and also makes me sad that you don't feel immense joy at these specific things #like. so many of you don't know 'fuld af nattens stjerner' or 'solen er så rød mor' or schlaflied für anne' or those other childhood songs #so many of you don't celebrate studenterkørsel and sankthans and nikolaus #you don't necessarily know the julekalender or the original little mermaid or other stories by hc andersen or the grimm brothers #so many of you don't automatically think 'jeg står under æ mistelten' when you hear someone say the name oluf #i want you all to know and love these things as much as i do! and i want to know and love your culture as well! #ahhhh emotions about culture..... they are hitting me <3333 #own post
