ok i got gotten by this week's wayne family adventures, i really got gotten, i cannot lie. it got me.

#personal #for one i'm always a fan of jason and barbara being buds in any capacity #so them helping steph is always a plus #for two i just really like when jason gets to be the emotionally healthy one #it just jives with this idea i've had in my head about how he's been through so much genuinely heinous shit #that he's able to actually see a lot of things pretty clearly #and yeah he does know what it's like to be angry at your lot in life #and to be let down by parents when they're meant to protect you #willis and catherine and bruce all fucked him up even while loving him and sheila literally murdered him #so having him clear-eyed on that aspect of himself even when he's still sorta messy with bruce #(i mean not nearly in wfa the way he is in most canon they're shockingly well adjusted here but still) #in order to help steph who's younger and who needs that older friendly reassurance #listen i like that i genuinely like that from a characterization standpoint #it's just one of the few times jason's wfa characterization has meshed with the one i have in my head based on comics i've read #(not a bad thing that wfa doesn't always jive with my interpretation of canon it's a different canon and it's meant to be harmless fluff) #(which i appreciate i don't mind a little fanservice when was the last time this fandom was fucking serviced) #anyway yeah i enjoyed it #probably even a bit more than the last jason centric two parter
