Abhinav Singh Kashyap, who had helmed the 2010Salman Khan blockbuster Dabangg, recently accused Salman Khan and his brothers Sohail Khan and Arbaaz Khan for sabotaging his projects.
Now, Arbaaz Khan and brother Sohail Khan have reportedly taken legal action against director Abhinav Singh Kashyap and also filed a defamation case.
Arbaaz Khan, while talking to ABP News, said, “We had already told that we would take legal route against Abhinav. Sohail has now filed a defamation case against him.”
Arbaaz, who is upset with all the accusations against his family, further said, “Abhinav’s allegations against us are baseless. He is accusing me, Salman, Sohail and our father to tarnish our reputation. We were forced to file a defamation case against him because of his tactics.”
When ABP News sought a response from Salim Khan on Abhinav’s accusations on Wednesday, he said, “To what extent is it fair to break the blame for our failure? Do we have enough strength to flop any film Are such people should not be encouraged at all. I feel that I am standing in the dock at the moment due to such accusations. Everything given by Abhinav before the interview is clear. All these crazy things Are … We offered him ‘Dabangg 2’, he refused to do it, the thing ends there. I have written 40 films within my career, but Abhinav has also put my name in the list of accusations. . He should have been ashamed before doing so “.

Ram-Leela (literally baz luhrman could NEVER! romeo and juliet has never before or ever will be done better than this)
Devdas (no comment)
BLACK (phenomenally heartwrenching but it’s basically a remake of the miracle worker or else it would get the number 1 spot)
Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (they filmed this movie with a potato but it’s not their fault that technology was sucky atm but this film was really perfect for the era it was in. AND salman khan didnt get the girl so there’s actual JUSTICE AND a happy ending YAAAS)
Bajirao Mastani (priyanka really saved this movie from being absolute trash. ummm slightly elevated visuals from devdas with a slightly smaller story of two adulterers. we all popped the biggest bottles when they both died!)
Saawariya (okay this movie was stunning and had a lot of muslim art and design which was def the highlight and the color correcting was magnificent but it flopped completely bc it was competing with om shanti om but like it’s a good thing bc the whole point of the movie was to feel bad for a man but you just cant do that bc nobody feels bad for a desi squidward)
Guzaarish (there was like... no real point to this movie besides that there are rich christian indians living in india... aditya roy kapur was cute tho)
idk where padmavati is going to go but judging from whatever is released atm i think it will be behind BLACK for me. the cast looks really great and aditi rao hydari is apparently in it and she like picks her roles really well so it should be interesting.

Raees to Tubelight, Rangoon to Akshay's fab-five, Bollywood in 2017 will make Rs 1000cr
2016 was not a good year for Bollywood.
Sure, there were the two Rs 300-crore giants Dangal and Sultan. A few surprise hits like Neerja and Pink. Akshay Kumar with his string of three Rs 100-crore films (Airlift, Housefull 3 and Rustom). But all in all, that is just it.
The Mumbai film industry incurred heavy losses last year, thanks to the box-office failures of some major films which were expected to fare well at the ticket counters. For instance, Fan and Mohenjo Daro, both made on huge budgets were expected to make good money at the box office. But they tanked miserably. Sequels like Great Grand Masti, Tum Bin 2, Kahaani 2 and Rock On 2 couldn't do any good either.
In addition to these, some major productions like Fitoor, Baar Baar Dekho, Ki & Ka, Azhar, Udta Punjab and Mirzya failed badly at the box office. To put it all together, the amount of money lost by Bollywood in 2016 cannot be recuperated by the money earned by Dangal and Sultan.

However, the slate for 2017 is bound to make both audiences and distributors happy. The Bollywood films scheduled to grace us this year is a mixed bag of big star-vehicles, small films with indie cred and some medium-budget female actor-driven films on the lines of Queen.
First up, Salman Khan himself has two films this year. Just there, you have a Rs 550 crore to Rs 600 crore of nett. earnings from the domestic market. Salman is coming with Kabir Khan's Tubelight on Eid followed by Tiger Zinda Hai in the Christmas week this year.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is arriving with Raees right at the beginning of the year, on January 25 alongside Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil. These two films alone are expected to rake in no less than Rs 250 crore together at the domestic box office, thereby breaking the January jinx of Bollywood producing flops in the first month.

Following Raees, Shah Rukh Khan has his Imtiaz Ali project with Anushka Sharma which is scheduled to release on August 11.
However, perhaps, the biggest money-maker of 2017 is going to be Akshay Kumar. Kumar doesn't have one or two, but five films coming in 2017!
First, there's Jolly LLB 2 followed by the tri-lingual science-fiction film 2.0 starring Rajinikanth. Then there's Hera Pheri 3, Padman directed by R Balki, and Toilet - Ek Prem Katha, a social satire. Besides all this, Akshay will reportedly make a cameo in Taapsee Pannu-starrer Naam Shabana, the prequel to 2015's Baby. As such, Akshay Kumar alone is expected to rake in more than Rs 500 crore at the domestic box office.

Two other big-budget films of 2017 are Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati starring Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, and Golmaal Again where Rohit Shetty teams up one more time with Ajay Devgn and co. These two films are expected to bring in no less than Rs 200 crore in domestic profits, together.
Moving away from the big stars, there are smaller films with a lot of potential like Secret Superstar with Aamir Khan playing a cameo role. A social drama on the lines of Taare Zameen Par, Secret Superstar is expected to ride high on good word of mouth and not to mention, Aamir Khan's post-Dangal image.
In addition to Secret Superstar, the list of medium-budget films releasing in 2017, like Hansal Mehta's (Shahid, Aligarh) Simran starring Kangana Ranaut, Sonakshi Sinha-starrer Noor, Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar 3, Anushka Sharma-Diljit Dosanjh's Phillauri, YRF's Meri Pyaari Bindu, Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon-starrer Raabta, and Saif Ali Khan's Chef and Kaalgandi look extremely good. Sure, a few films can go either way at the box office but mostly, the losses will not be a enough to put a dent in the security already provided by Salman, Akshay and Shah Rukh's films.
And of course, then there's the two students of the year, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan coming with Reloaded and Judwaa 2 respectively. These films will decide if Sidharth and Varun are ready to reach the big leagues of mega-stardom.

However, the two riskiest films of 2017 are Vishal Bhardwaj's World War II drama Rangoon starring Saif, Shahid and Kangana followed by Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif-starrer Jagga Jasoos. Both are out-of-the-box, unconventional projects with a lot of money riding on them. And as similar films such as Barfi! or Bombay Velvet have shown us before, films like Rangoon and Jagga Jasoos can either strike gold or make producers go bankrupt.

Overall, 2017 looks great. If even half of the aforementioned films become box-office hits, there will be much to feel happy about.

Abhinav Singh Kashyap, who had helmed the 2010Salman Khan blockbuster Dabangg, recently accused Salman Khan and his brothers Sohail Khan and Arbaaz Khan for sabotaging his projects.
Abhinav had said “The reason I moved out of making Dabangg 2 ten years ago is that Arbaaz Khan in collusion with Sohail Khan and family was trying to take control of my career by bullying me. Arbaaz Khan sabotaged my second project with Shree Ashtavinayak Films that I was signed up with by personally calling their head Mr. Raj Mehta and threatening him with dire consequences if they made a film with me. I had to return the signing money to Shree Ashtavinayak films and moved to Viacom Pictures. They did the same thing.”

Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan files defamation case against Abhinav Kashyap
Now, Arbaaz Khan and brother Sohail Khan have reportedly taken legal action against director Abhinav Singh Kashyap and also filed a defamation case.
Arbaaz Khan, while talking to ABP News, said, “We had already told that we would take legal route against Abhinav. Sohail has now filed a defamation case against him.”
Arbaaz, who is upset with all the accusations against his family, further said, “Abhinav’s allegations against us are baseless. He is accusing me, Salman, Sohail and our father to tarnish our reputation. We were forced to file a defamation case against him because of his tactics.”

When ABP News sought a response from Salim Khan on Abhinav’s accusations on Wednesday, he said, “To what extent is it fair to break the blame for our failure? Do we have enough strength to flop any film Are such people should not be encouraged at all. I feel that I am standing in the dock at the moment due to such accusations. Everything given by Abhinav before the interview is clear. All these crazy things Are … We offered him ‘Dabangg 2’, he refused to do it, the thing ends there. ★ Why doesn't Salman Khan fulfill his potential as a superstar?!

December 29, 1989. Rajshri Productions' 'Maine Pyaar Kiya' hits the screens and scorches the Box Office. The newcomers, Salman Khan and Bhagyashree, become nation-wide heart-throbs. The critics laud film and the female lead, but aren’t so kind to Salman. ‘Another flash in the pan like Kumar Gaurav’ is the common refrain. But destiny and the audience have different plans.
Thirty years later, in 2020, Bhagyashree has long vanished into the wide blue yonder, while Salman is still shimmering as the brightest star in the firmament.
In the last 30 years, Salman witnessed periods of untrammelled domination at the turnstiles where his presence alone turned films into blockbusters. He holds most of the Box Office records of the last three decades — such as the most number of highest grossers of the year, the most blockbusters and many more.
Still, a section of critics continued to dismiss him as a 'non-actor' and gave credit to other actors/factors for the success of his films. But Salman kept marching on, even as his co-stars — from Bhagyashree to Madhuri Dixit — succumbed to the vagaries of time. A slew of flaming controversies and spells of flops threatened to halt his strides, but the paying public continued to endorse and celebrate him unwaveringly.
But, as is the case with many supremely successful people, Salman is possessed of a self-destructive streak, which rears up from time to time. It is apparent that only Salman can fell Salman. Call it paradoxical or ironical, but the superstar who has had the best connect with the audience across the length and breadth of the country is also the one who takes his audience for granted the most.Be it unabashedly promoting nepotism or choosing to work with sycophants, who willingly dance to his tunes — rather than with proficient directors — Salman's whimsical attitude is directly proportional to the loyalty of his fans.The abundant, and often blind, love of his hordes of fans gives him the safety net to become complacent and lackadaisical. After all, at present, even his under-performers such as 'Race 3' and 'Dabangg 3' rake in more money than the super-hits of mere mortal stars.Recently, Salman chose to opt out of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Inshallah' and gave his nod to Prabhu Deva for 'Radhe'. That's because Bhansali is a prodigiously skilful and visionary director who doesn't kowtow to the whims of stars. While 'Bhai' mostly likes to work with directors he can arm-twist and get his way with regard to casting, music and screenplay.That's the reason, Salman merrily antagonises self-respecting, sterling directors and patronises ciphers such as Remo D'Souza and Prabhu Deva.Of course, in between come directors such as Kabir Khan and Ali Abbas Zafar who work their way around Salman’s ego and manage to conjure up 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' and 'Sultan', but even they eventually get browned off by his petulance. Kabir, in fact, has gone on the record to say that he didn't want Sohail Khan, Salman's brother, in ‘Tubelight', but the superstar put his foot down. The outcome was disastrous. The director of the classic 'Bajarangi Bhaijaan' eked out a dud like 'Tubelight' and chose to work with Ranveer Singh for his next film.His propensity to swamp films with his acolytes, instead of stellar actors, in side-roles also dilutes the impact of his films. ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, although a super-hit, is a shining example. ‘Jai Ho’ suffered massively on this count where he shoehorned an army of discrads such as Yash Tonk, Ashmit Patel and Mukul Dev. Earlier, the late Inder Kumar and Mahek Chahal were regular beneficiaries of his misplaced benevolence.'Veer', 'Tubelight', 'Garv', 'Hello Brother', 'Race 3', 'Tumko Na Bhool Payenge', ‘God Tussi Great Ho’, ‘Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaye’ — the list of movies wrecked by Salman's rabid interference is a long one.Make no mistake. In the past, Salman worked with some fabulous directors in his career - Sooraj Barjatya, Rakesh Roshan, David Dhawan and Raj Kumar Santoshi, to name a few - and that’s why he attained the stardom he did. But many a time, he blatantly promoted grovelling filmmakers such as Punit Issar (‘Garv’) Rumi Jaffery (‘God Tussi Great Ho’) and his own brother Sohail Khan. That always prevented him to go full steam and measure up to his true potential.The other two Khans - Aamir and Shah Rukh - have been far more prudent, conscientious and wiser than him in this matter. Even when they promote a director or an actor, they do it on merit.He has just witnessed perhaps the best phase (2010-2017) ever enjoyed by a mainstream superstar in terms of Box Office returns. Every eminent director wants to work with him. From Bhansali, Rohit Shetty and Farhan Akhtar to SS Rajamouli, all have expressed their desire many times to work with him, but are antagonised and shunned by him, simply because they aren’t going to pander to his whims and fancies.
As a result, the sheen seems to be wearing off. 'Tubelight', 'Race 3' and 'Dabangg 3' have under-performed at the ticket counters in successive years. In fact, they made more money than they actually deserved. Only a self-destructive megalomaniac can squander his mega stardom and misuse the loyalty of his fans in such a slapdash manner.
This isn't the first time in his career when his mercurial and blase attitude has come to the fore. He has got away with it thus far. But now he's in his 50s and no longer a spring chicken. He no longer has the age on his side. Moreover, his fans also seem to be cheesed off and are no longer in the mood to cut him more slack. Some of them will perhaps still stick around and wait for him to do the right films. He may stay afloat for next few years but will not dominate the landscape like he has. To be treated like a mere mortal after decades of being worshipped would be a stinging blow to Salman.
If one objectively looks at his enviable and an unusually long career as a leading man, there are a host of blockbusters and classics. But given the kind of unconditional and frenzied adulation he has been bestowed upon by the audience, the lingering sentiment is that he hasn't fulfilled the potential of his stardom. While his place among the pantheon of all-time Box Office greats is firmly ensconced, the potential is still waiting to be fully realised.
