Please don’t hate me.

BUUUT...

I think that Portia is more evil than Esme.

Like, if you believe that Esme is reverting to her old ways, she’s just being herself.  She can hit her villain arc, and get it.  I honestly think us Trina fans hate Esme more for the lack of the concern and agency the black female victim has been given by the show.  And it was a choice.  Every beat where they could have acknowledged the crimes committed upon Trina, TPTB let it get glossed over, so we had to be her ride or die.  It’s like, drugging...what drugging?  The writing stays trash.

But the way her own MOTHER is manipulating her abuser is even more despicable to me.  I think Portia believes Esme’s memory loss is real.  She isn’t doing this to trip her up, she is manipulating someone she thinks is going through emotional issues to get her daughter’s boyfriend to cheat.  That is so gross! 

If she was going behind the scenes to get justice for her daughter that would be fine.  She’s using a baby to guilt trip/manipulate someone with memory loss.  That is so underhanded and gross.  And poor Spencer, yet ANOTHER adult screwing around with his life with ZERO regard to him and his emotional state.
