I’ve now read many, many accounts from trans men of being ostracised, treated cruelly and ultimately traumtised by the reaction from their queer communities upon coming out to them. This is clearly something that has happened to a lot of people. I’m not the queer community but we clearly need to fucking do something because this is very dark and sinister.

#queer community #trans men #i'm closeted and have therefore experienced no one's reaction at all #but i'm also not really in a queer community and for the first time i'm seeing maybe that's good #my lgbtq meetup group is extremely normie and are just people of all ages meeting up for a coffee #honestly i think the fact that we have several middle aged and older people as regular attendees helps #otherwise gross online discourses can creep in and effect people's dynamics #from an outsider's perspective i remember the 'trans men have male privilege from the moment of coming out' era #it was.....not good and it was all in the name of helping trans women i think which is so weird as i don't think it did that at all #possibly it was cis women and cafab nonbinary people thinking it helped? #i honestly think the 'so you think we should centre men??!~!!!' exclamation is one of the worst things to ever happen #well that's an exaggeration but it's certainly bad #the wider community is so bad at seeing people in it as individuals with feelings and a need for connection sometimes :( #butyouvealwaysbeenthecaretaker always had great things to say on this topic...miss you
