I was finishing up my nightly patrol when I find a cat cafe I’d never noticed before. Maybe I was usually to tired to notice something as minuscule as an innocent coffee shop. I looked at the sign and it said it was open so I decide to go inside.

When I walk in, I am greeted with the smell of coffee and a little black kitten rubbing against my leg. I feel myself smile a bit, but immediately wipe it away as I pick up the Kitten. I make my way over to the counter where a woman seemed to be packing some things up for the night. She lets out an embarrassed chuckle and puts the container on the counter.

"It's fine, I don’t really mind. Compared to some of my coworkers you’re as silent as a mouse." I tell her, my mind wandering to how loud Hizashi is. "Thanks, and yeah. I would like to take her home." I say, grabbing my coffee and the cookies. I then look at her while taking a sip of my coffee.

"Great! I actually have some paperwork you need to fill out tho. I shouldn't take too long." She then pulls out a small packet of papers from the drawer and sets it on the counter.

I take the packet and go over to a nearby table setting down the objects that have accumulated in my arms over the past few minutes. I can see the woman go out from behind the counter and over to a closet which I didn't realize was there. I turn my attention back to the paperwork and start filling it out.

A few minutes later she comes over to my table with a cat bed, a few toys, a small bag of food, and a medium-sized cat carrier.

"These are for Luna if you want them." she says with a soft smile while putting them on the table.

"oh, thanks. how much do I owe you?" I say pulling out my wallet. I'm surprised, some shelters don't even give you stuff for your pets.

"Nothing" I look up at her with a confused look.

"I mean that you're taking the stuff for free, it's for Luna." she says in a more stern tone. It still held the same kindness, but with a bit more force. "Also, when you're done with the paperwork, I'll mail it to the animal shelter I'm partnered with so that I can get Luna registered as your cat!"

"Okay." I then finish it up and hand her the packet.

"Thank you, and just so you know, she is all up to date with any shots she needs and is already vaccinated" she says while getting an envelope from the same place she got the packet. While she is doing that I put all of Luna's things in the carrier and keep her in my scarf since she's asleep.

"Ok, thank you." I say taking a sip of my coffee and holding Luna. I check my phone and see that it's 10pm "I should get going soon."

I see her glance at the clock on the wall as she realizes what time it is.

"Oh wow! It's much later than I thought" She says while writing the address on the envelope. "I hope to see you again soon" she says looking at me and giving me a close eye smile.

"See ya." I turn to leave when I realize that we never exchanged names. "Oh, um, didn't catch your name."

"Right! My names Abigail Takahashi, you?"

"Shota Aizawa" and with that, I head home.
